Depends on the use case. I do local inference and AI research, health telemetry monitoring, gaming, net/sysadmin for the household, media sharing, docker kubernetes, etc etc etc.
The point of a homelab is to do exactly what you want to do, don’t need to build one if you don’t know what you need.

But we are $40 Trillion in debt. Who will pay for it all? An automation tax on business and a tax on data centers is a start but it comes nowhere near the amount of money necessary. How about a wealth tax on the ultra rich?

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

I am finding near 100% non-compliance with FLOCK cameras installed on @myTDOT roads. No breakaway. Way higher than approved . Not following TDOT design standards. There are so many out there that they have scaled their installation errors. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.

People are way too conditioned to everything being "free" (however it's not free, you are paying for it with your data).
If you want high quality, open source, privacy respecting alternatives, stop complaining when they *optionally* ask for money.
