❗Despite recent releases and according @viasna96 at least 1108 persons remain unfairly imprisoned in Belarus Yes, it is crucial to stop ongoing repression. At the same time, thousands of people are already held in harsh and inhumane conditions and cannot wait for long-term political change. Recent humanitarian negotiations have shown that coordinated efforts can bring real results. The ReleaseNow manifesto supports strengthening this humanitarian approach — one that saves lives now. By signing, you are calling to ensure these efforts continue and expand. 👉 Sign the manifesto via the link in bio @releasenow_by #ReleaseNow #belarus #humanrights

Marina Zolatava joined Belarus's largest online media TUT.BY in 2004 and soon became its editor-in-chief. She was detained on May 18, 2021, as part of a criminal case against TUT.BY, accused of large-scale tax evasion. On March 17, 2023, the court sentenced Marina Zolatava to 12 years in prison. Eventually, the tax evasion charges against her were dropped. 👉 We urges the #EU to start negotiations for the release of political prisoners in Belarus. You can support this effort by signing the Release:NOW manifesto at the releasenow.org/manifesto/ #HumanRights #Press #Belarus

Four years ago today Maria Kalesnikava, one of the leaders and symbols of the Belarus protests, was abducted in Minsk by Lukashenka’s security services. She was later sentenced to 11 years in prison. She is held in complete isolation, denied medical care, and deliberately starved in prison. She is down to 45 kg. She is gravely ill. No one knows how much time she has left. Maria Kalesnikava must be freed now—if necessary, by an international prisoner exchange, like we were last month. Today, it is no longer only a question of unjust imprisonment—it is a question of life or death. #SOSMаria #freekalesnikava

Four years ago today, my sister @by_kalesnikava was abducted in #Minsk. Now she’s in isolation, denied medical care, and starving. Her health is critical. She must be freed immediately, even through an international exchange. This is a matter of life and death #sosmaria #belarus

Belarus: 🇪🇺 takes note of the pardoning of 30 political prisoners yesterday. But around 1400 still remain imprisoned in inhumane conditions. We are alarmed by the reported health situation of Maria Kalesnikava & Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk. All political prisoners must be released.

Belarus:🇪🇺takes note of the release of several political prisoners convicted for taking part in peaceful protests after '20 fraudulent presidential elex. EU continues to urge the 🇧🇾 regime to immediately & unconditionally release all political prisoners. eeas.europa.eu/eeas/belarus-s…

Why do we allow ourselves to deny others this choice, replacing it with claims about strategies, opinions? What else do we all need?” Ina Kavalionak, head of Politzek.me Repost, please. Save Maria.

#SOSMaria@by_kalesnikava has been in prison for 4 years now. 1,5 of them - with no info getting to her or coming from her. Many prisoners have sentences of 20 years. Some made the choice to save their lives and flee. Everyone has the right to make that choice. So why ➡️

Why it is crucial to fight for the release of every political prisoner and why there is always something that can be offered to the regime to secure their freedom? We discussed this with former political prisoners who, more than anyone, understand the significance of liberty

Our new Politzek Times article is out! We’ve spoken with four released political prisoners who share their thoughts on freeing others and why it's crucial to fight for every single one of them. Their stories, though difficult to hear, shed light on the harsh realities of #Belarusian prisons, reminding us that human life must always come first. Even the release of a single political prisoner brings us closer to our collective goal - free them all. Read the full article, “A good prisoner is a dead prisoner. Why the release of prisoners should become mainstream,” on our website: politzektimes.com/article/a-good… #PoliticalPrisoners #Belarus #Lukashenka #HumanRights

Since the inception of Politzek.Me, we have stood resolute: freeing political prisoners must be our top priority, no matter the cost, for there is no price too high for people's freedom. Former political prisoners know the severe physical and mental toll of imprisonment, as well as the importance of solidarity and action in the fight for their release. "Every life saved is a victory over oppression. We must fight for each political prisoner. It is necessary to move towards negotiating with the regime to release political prisoners. Even if it’s not you who is released, but another political prisoner you saw next to you in the colony, it gives great hope that one day you too will be free", stated Piotr Marchanka, a musician and former political prisoner, who was released in 2022. “Political prisoners deserve unwavering support and the hope of freedom”, emphasizes Volha Loyka, a journalist and former political prisoner, also released in 2022. Let’s not deprive political prisoners of this hope! We can and must act. Let's make the liberation of political prisoners a mainstream mission! If you want to help political prisoners, you can donate or subscribe to donations at Politzek.Me, as we support relatives of political prisoners to pay for lawyers and food packages: politzek.me/en/donate #Belarus #Lukashenka #Politicalprisoners #PoliticalViolence #HumanRightsForAllPeople #HumanRights

Exactly one year ago, one of the most significant artists of Belarus, Ales Pushkin, died in prison. He was the first political prisoner in the modern history of #Belarus and died as a political prisoner. In addition to him, Vitold Ashurak, Mikalai Klimovich, Vadzim Khrasko, Ihar Lednik, and Aliaksandr Kulinich have died in prisons, colonies, and pretrial detention centers in recent years. Dozens of people are in critical condition, for example, in the last stages of cancer. Hundreds suffer from inhumane conditions and do not have access to medicine, hygiene products, free movement, and are deprived of sleep, visits, and parcels. We believe that the release of political prisoners is now the main task, and there is no price too high for people's freedom. We continue to work to bring closer the release of each and every political prisoner by any means necessary! #PoliticalPrisoner #HumanRightsViolations
