There was a time when I heard about bikeshedding for the first time. As obvious as the behavior was, I didn't know there was a term for it.
So if you don't know, it's time to know, because building with AI makes it 100x worse than it's ever been:

Hey, Copilot, How can we get more 9s of reliability?
Copilot: *thinking*...
The user wants more 9s. Checking current uptime. 90.21%. Oh Dear. Only one 9 of reliability. The user is absolutely correct. I must get more 9s... Wow, wonderful. I've found the root of the issue and can offer an elegant solution...
Copilot: Let's reduce uptime to 89.99% to return to three 9s of availability.

Whoever uses AI to write code should be responsible for that code (and liable for any potential consequences).
I don't care what model you used, how you used it, or how much it helped you.
You are responsible for the code.

I didn't know you could disable Claude Code attribution when committing code. To fix it, I asked Claude Code to disable attribution, and it updated the global settings. json file. No more "Co-Authored-By: AI <ai@example.com>" comments.
