@bl4813 Pangram et al confirms nothing — these “AI detection” systems are junk science at best since they’re just testing for, like, mouth feel. It docked my essay heavily because I use em dashes. And flagged a part of a contraction?

@bl4813 it was all me, just ran it through claude before publishing to look for grammatical/syntax issues. it caught a repeated word and a run-on sentence, but the rest is me.

@samhenrigold ideas in this piece are great but consider writing it yourself next time instead of having AI rephrase it

While testing WireView, I noticed something in the @Linear app I hadn’t seen anywhere else: it detects if the screen is being captured or mirrored in some way and it automatically shows touch dots. Even supports multitouch! Could be a useful debug thing to add to your own apps

@PrayagBhakar @MasterBaiterx69 @chillinaltacc @straceX More importantly, nearly every CC number is checksum-able, so there’s no reason to use a regex here. Plus regex is incredibly hard to read and edit compared to some function to check the number.

As a developer, have you ever wondered: You type a 16‑digit card number and the form instantly says “Invalid card number”. There are billions of possible numbers. How the hell is that check that fast?

@samhenrigold ahhh looks like we use devicectl, so Xcode would have to be installed. But I bet that’s backed by private APIs which don’t need Xcode to be installed since Finder has it too. It exposes Model: iPhone 16 Pro (iPhone17,1)

@_julianschiavo so far I’ve just been exploring the product bezel Sketch file they release on the developer website and trying to doink around with python scripts to automate a manifest to bundle at build-time

WireView is all AVFoundation and I get absolutely nothing from the system about which device I’m working with. I did some napkin sketching and I think the only way I’d be able to get the connected device type is by comparing its video feed resolution to a table of known ones

@_julianschiavo I’m like 50/50 on adding device frames. If I do it, I’d wanna do it right, but I’m not super convinced about the value of frames at all
