I've heard some worries about @WordCampAsia in Mumbai and the war. I'm 100% attending and looking forward to meeting everyone there! Just not going to fly through Dubai or Qatar as I might normally. Lots of alternate routes available.

Ever wondered what WPKitchen is building? WPKitchen is currently working on seven community-driven programs: Read all our programs here: wpkitchen.com/programs/ 😋 Lunch Time Our core program provides monthly subsidized homemade lunches to WordPress freelancers working in co-working spaces across Asia. Sponsors cover 70% of the cost, while freelancers contribute the remaining 30%. In doing so, we not only support WordPressers but also promote co-working culture, homemade food, and empower chefs working from home. 🎁 Treat Time A weekly sponsored lunch giveaway series where we run a contest and invite a WordPress influencer to pick the winner from the giveaway participants. ☕ Tea Time Small, meaningful community moments inspired by WordCamp experiences, connecting attendees with the broader community. 🤝 Meet Time Local gatherings where WordPressers can meet, eat, network, and reduce professional isolation. 💻 Work Time A subsidized workspace program designed to support WordPress freelancers, especially during the summer season. 🎓 WordPress Campus Connect — Faisalabad The first-ever WordPress Campus Connect event in Pakistan was successfully held at Career Institute, Jinnah Colony Campus, Faisalabad, on 28th February 2026. Over 90 students participated, supported by 11 dedicated hosts, including speakers and organizers. We are currently planning the next event. 💵 Eidi for Freelancers An initiative to collect Eidi contributions from supporters and distribute them among active members of the local WordPress community. To support any of these programs and make a real impact in the WordPress community, you can contribute as a sponsor or supporter by visiting our contribution page: wpkitchen.com/contribute . Every contribution helps us empower freelancers and grow our community.

I am humbled to share that Jeff Atwood, the founder of Stack Overflow and Discourse, who blogs at Coding Horror (blog.codinghorror.com), really loved our Work-Time by WPKitchen idea and is supporting us in initiating this program through rgmii.org The Rural Guaranteed Minimum Income Initiative is a project where researchers give families living in poverty a fixed monthly payment for a period of time and observe what happens. The goal is to learn whether direct cash support can help reduce poverty by enabling people to pay bills, start small businesses, and stabilize their lives. I am now opening registrations for Work-Time by WPKitchen. Reserve your workspace for the summer season. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

Eidi for WordPress Freelancers Every year during Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, many employees receive Eid bonuses or gifts from their companies. These gestures make the celebration even more joyful for working professionals and their families. However, freelancers are often left out of this tradition. Most freelancers work independently and are paid per project. Unlike employees, they usually do not receive holiday bonuses or workplace benefits. Despite contributing to the global WordPress ecosystem through development, design, support, and content work, freelancers rarely receive Eid bonuses. A Small Initiative by WPKitchen WPKitchen is organizing a small community initiative to share the joy of Eid with WordPress freelancers. Through this initiative, we aim to collect Eidi contributions and distribute them among freelancers who are active members of the local WordPress community. This is a simple way to recognize the independent professionals who help power the WordPress ecosystem every day. How You Can Contribute We are accepting Eidi contributions starting from $50 USD per freelancer. Contributors can choose to sponsor one or more freelancers. All contributions can be made through: 👉 ko-fi.com/wpkitchen Each $50 contribution will support one freelancer as a community Eid gift. Supporting Freelancers in the WordPress Ecosystem Freelancers play a major role in the WordPress ecosystem. They build websites, help businesses grow online, and support clients around the world. Through this initiative, we hope to share a small gesture of appreciation and celebration with the freelancers who are part of our community. If you would like to participate in this initiative, you are welcome to contribute and help us share the joy of Eid with WordPress freelancers. 🌙✨

After hosting the WordPress Campus Connect event in Faisalabad, we organized a follow-up meeting with the hosts and speakers on Google Meet. We discussed what went well, the mistakes we made, and how we can improve for the next event. This helped us document lessons and plan better for future Campus Connect events.
