@RealYaacov TBH the semantics for GET requests is to not change any state. Also, you might want to let the link work only in the browser where the link was requested from by e.g. setting a cookie on link request and checking against it.

Magic links only work the first time you click them, otherwise replay attacks would be trivial. So congrats, your email preloading service is now logged in to my customer’s account. And my customer isn’t.

just spent hours cleaning up @Outlook ’s mess. Geniuses decided to preload every link in every email without thinking about how that would affect email auth. Now my customers can’t log in, assholes

Always keep a big vision. Put more hours than you think you should toward making a big vision. Once you have a big vision, everything shrinks to fit within it. All tasks, obstacles become part of a greater whole.

@demiurgently Are you exercising? Playing tennis, climbing, and swimming 5+ times per week did it for me. I slipped off the schedule a month back and was feeling down again, picked it back up now and feeling much better.

i went through a period of being very sociable and now i've been putting my foot in my mouth for 3 months straight. & i'm tired all the time, pretty irritable, unmotivated, not very productive i think i'm experiencing burnout for the first time! not rlly sure what to do abt it

Went on a date. Didn’t feel a connection. Female friend argued I shouldn’t just move on, but say: “Thanks again for meeting up! I didn’t feel there was a match, but take care!” I wasn’t sure about it, but I sent the message, and my date hearted it! Directness ftw. 🤷‍♂️

the thought of getting palpable attention from telling the story can sometimes be more inspiring than a sometimes harder to appreciate outcome itself

it's interesting how a desire to have an engaging story to tell can be a great motivator in itself you could google how to start running and lose weight, follow the advice, get results OR you could ask chatgpt for a plan, follow it, get results, AND have a cool story to tweet
