A massive airstrike in south Beirut this evening. Past airstrikes on the southern suburbs have occurred without many people inside Beirut proper hearing it. Literally everybody I know says the explosion rattled their homes, even deep into the city.

On October 12, the State Dept began booking charter flights to fly Americans out of Israel if they wanted to leave. Americans in Lebanon, facing an ongoing bombing campaign (with U.S. bombs) and no real way out, are told to get bent. h/t @halalflow

Our residents keep booking those "available flights," and they are canceled repeatedly, and guess what? The cost of airfare for the one available commercial flight is $8,000. When I told the @StateDept about the cost barrier, their reply is "we will provide them with a loan."

An Israeli airstrike killed a young Palestinian girl in central Gaza City while she was playing on her roller blades, targeting and bombing the area where she was. Israel has killed more than 14,000 Palestinian children in Gaza since October 7, according to the latest figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health. The Lancet medical journal estimates that tens of thousands more have also been killed.
