@kirk3gaard @illumina @aalborg_uni @nanopore @qiime2 Do you want to guess what we are up to @JMF_Vienna? ;) The nostalgic relationship of many folks towards amplicons is, btw, not emotional but financial. They still have their place, even with primer biases in place.

@illumina @aalborg_uni For people keen on doing amplicons nowadays it would be valuable to have ASV/OTU style processing from @nanopore data. Anyone developing this? @qiime2 ? #DADA2? The data quality should be sufficient?

I was finally allowed to unplug the old @illumina MiSeq after many years in the lab @aalborg_uni . It has been essential in many papers to have this in house but in recent years it has been kept operational mostly for people who had a nostalgic relationship with their amplicons.
