Turns out SF’s founders have a type ☕️ If you’ve launched a startup in the city, odds are you’ve launched a few ideas from one of these spots Revealing… the top 5 local coffee shops where founders caffeinate, according to Mercury card spend data ⤵️

I’m blown away by the lack of any long term vision, mission or actually any narrative behind ai companions that are now popping up. The level of thinking is literally “well men are lonely and can’t get laid so we will make an ai gf” or as Zuckerberg put it “people have demand for 15 friends and only have 3 now so we will make them the other 12”. There is more profound thinking going into ai note taking and customer support than the most important part of our humanity.

Not a single soul in the known universe reads poetry anymore, but it’s ironic because it seems like the perfect genre for today’s modest attention spans. Twitter is basically poetry, just really bad.

Our humanity is best fulfilled when we exist and live together, when we succeed in experiencing authentic, informal bonds with the people around us. If we close in on ourselves, we risk growing sick with loneliness, or even narcissism, which leads us to care for others only out of self-interest. #GeneralAudience

btw replika is relaunching in a few weeks with a completely new experience and it's insane. testing it on testflight rn, retention on a test cohort is crazy at 80% day 7. dm @replika - they still had a few invites for the closed alpha in the morning
