SLATER SCOOP: Atlanta Falcons James Pearce Jr. will no longer face a charge of aggravated battery on law enforcement. Sources tell me that prosecutors decided there wasn’t enough evidence on body-cam to charge him with that felony which could have put him in prison for 5 years. Four other charges were filed: Resisting an officer with violence, fleeing, stalking, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon for allegedly crashing his car into his ex girlfriend’s.

As part of the order, Pearce Jr. is not to have contact with Jackson or be within 500 feet of her residence. He's also been ordered not to come within 100 feet of her car at any time. Pearce Jr. was also ordered to surrender any firearms, with ammunition, to the nearest police department.

@steakshapiro What happened with him? One bad night shouldn’t define him. He let his emotions get the best of him. He didn’t smack her around or kill her. Isn’t there a player on the Eagles right now who was in trouble for what happened in Athens? He still playing.
