This is incorrect. Intergenerational mobility in the US is lower than in Europe. And the reason is straightforward: intergenerational mobility tracks income inequality pretty closely. This is the Great Gatsby Curve.

This week, the UN General Assembly’s 5th Committee began discussions on a $5.2B budget proposal for Peacekeeping. 🇺🇳🕊️ Ireland 🇮🇪 was pleased to chair an initial meeting of UN MS to assess these proposals, and looks forward to agreement on adequate resourcing for these important operations.

On the margins of the #NPT Review Conference, 🇮🇪 & 🇳🇿 co-hosted an event with members of the @UN Independent Panel on Nuclear War Effects and Scientific Research. At a time of heightened nuclear risks, the urgent work of tackling the catastrophic effects of nuclear war must be based on the latest science. 🔬☢️ We look forward to seeing the Panel’s work develop over the coming 18 months.
