@BakerMateo27332 @sawemdo @allenanalysis He was executive director of the Detroit Health Department and Health Officer for the City of Detroit from 2015 to 2017 , and from 2023-2025, he served as Department of Health, Human, and Veterans Services for the most populous county in Michigan, he’s literally a RHODES SCHOLAR

@praiseall1 @sawemdo @allenanalysis City council. School board. County commissioner. State legislature. Working on a winning campaign. Run local party committee. That's how you gain experience, serve your community, & give voters a track record to judge you on.

Dr. Abdul El-Sayed: The Democratic Party keeps picking its own winners. Obama wasn’t supposed to run. Bernie got locked out — twice. Biden couldn’t read the room. 107 days. A loss. Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is running for Senate in Michigan and he said what nobody in the party will say out loud: “There is a divide between what the establishment says Democrats should fight for — and what Democratic voters actually want.” Medicare for All. Ending a genocide paid for by your taxes. A primary process where ideas actually compete. Michigan is the test case. Full conversation — first episode of The Allen Analysis, dropping this week on X. Never stop connecting the dots.

@allenanalysis He's a grifter no different than trump. Big ego and campaign promises with no track record of success or actual advocacy for any of them.

@EthantheAvocado @saikatc i think israel is likely to immediately break those conditions but largely we agree. the only thing is that i think funding iron domes for other countries would take away from social security for our citizens, which should be prioritized over iron domes

@g5p8v8r7s7 @Smedley1775 @BernieSanders ok still doubt conservatives like the idea of higher income taxes on the wealthy to form stronger social safety net initiatives and mass funding to public schools and college tuition-rollbacks lol

Ok, Jamie: Let me clear things up for you. If my 5% wealth tax on billionaires was enacted you’d owe $135 million more in taxes & a family of 4 making $150,000 or less would receive a $12,000 payment. Oh, and you’d still be worth more than $2.5 billion. Seems pretty fair to me.
Acyn@Acyn

Kilmeade: What do you say to people like Bernie Sanders who says billionaires don't pay their fair share? Dimon: I don't know what he means by fair share

@BernieSanders Dumbass. In that scenario, he would buy a mansion in Monaco and change his nationality These stupid wealth taxes lose the government money every time they are tried

@rhodes_mzra @fredsoda Well even then, SAT isn’t the ideal way to determine smartness or fit for a school. If we only used the SAT (which inherently controls for wealth through access to external tutors), the ivies would be far more Asian than I imagine conservatives would like

@fredsoda This is just blatant misinformation. Only 0.07% are able to achieve perfect scores, which is around 1000 students per year while around 16,000 Ivy league freshman enroll each year. So at most you are looking at around 1/16. Not the entire class

Tyler Cowen in his new book on why economists write about topics outside their area of expertise: “The dirty little secret is that what distinguishes economics as a field, right now, is a mix of higher standards, harder work, better math, and higher IQs.” This is clearly true.

"Solid B cities might not have the MoMA, but they are likely to have good museums, a great brewery scene, a functional bike path, and a minor-league stadium. To live in a place you can afford with a municipal government that works, this hardly seems like a consolation prize."
