📢Thrilled to share -re-print alert from @LIFE_Boulder. Led by @ben_alessio22 "Diffusiophoresis-enhanced Turing Patterns". Comparison of fish patterns with and without diffusiophoresis (pc credits to Birch Aquarium for the Ornate Boxfish and craigjhowe for the Jewel Moray Eel).

Many porous media have layers of differing permeabilities—causing uneven fluid flow. This paper in @JFluidMech, led by @CBrowneSciClown (+ amazing undergrads Richard & Callie), describes how polymers can help overcome this problem. More at doi.org/10.1017/jfm.20… & below! [1/7]

Congratulation @i_Grobas! In this paper, we provided more detailed characterisations of phase transition in B subtilis swarming colony. Collaboration with Great @PolinMarco.

Here the PhD results generated during the lockdowns @MRCDTP_IBR @WarwickLifeSci. After an in-depth analysis of videos of swarming bacteria forming multiple layers, we observed that such transition resembles phase separation in binary fluids. Full story: frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

🐝 How do bees build their beautiful combs? We provide new insights using 3D-printed geometrically frustrated lattices! Now out in @PNASNews pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn… Led by grad student @GolnarGF, see her excellent summary🧵👇
Golnar@GolnarGF

I am excited to share our new paper “Crystallography of honeycomb formation under geometric frustration” in @PNASNews with Daisy Zhang, Francisco López Jiménez, and @oritpeleg. Can we learn the secrets of collective comb construction from honeybees? 🧵

Today it was my first seminar as an "invited speaker" and in one of the most historical universities in the UK @Cambridge_Uni. Thanks @praneetpg for hosting and showing me around, and for all the discussions during and after the talk.

You've found a new species of some motile microbe, you want to study its #motility and behaviour, but it's too fast and too sneaky, what do you do? Build a ufluidic trap so it can't escape! hope you'll enjoy reading our paper out today in @eLife! doi.org/10.7554/eLife.… 1/
