Today, I was impacted by Oracle's layoffs. It’s a strange feeling, but I’m incredibly proud of what I was able to build over the past 4 years, from intern to full-time and through my work in the developer community, and grateful for the experience, mentors, and teammates along the way.

@kritikatwtss Career growth is highly dependent on the team you join, even in hotstar you might end up in a team where there is garbage work. Also no one can predict this company will layoff 🙂

I received a full-time offer from Oracle in 2022, which I ultimately declined. I believed that accepting the PPO offer from Hotstar would provide me with greater opportunities for growth. When I discussed my decision with my supposed be manager at Oracle, I was surprised by the question of why I preferred Hotstar over Oracle; I thought, 'Why is that even a question?' Anyways, I am pleased that I chose not to join Oracle.

@divyaporwal_ In global remote companies they dont care if you know dsa, they just check 2 things: your cultural fit in the team and second is your P.S most of the time they provide you with a case study (which involves a problem they are currently solving)

If I ever get the chance to interview college students,
I’ll never ask questions like Number of Islands or Longest Path in Matrix. Not because they’re bad problems…
But because they’ve become memorized patterns. Most students don’t solve them. They recall them. Instead, I would ask questions that:
• Combine multiple data structures
• Involve dynamic programming in a non-obvious way
• Feel like real-world problem solving Because that’s what actual engineering looks like. And honestly, I don’t like questions that can be mugged up.
I like questions that make you think, struggle, and explore.
