Yeah, brother made close to 80L notional profits in a day (despite META's fall). Why? because I had equal amount of Msft, which gained 15%+ Also, today Amazon is up. So the profits would go even higher. Plus, Meta is up pre market. Give it a couple of quarters, Meta is likely to run as well.

@foodpharmer2 People comparing the price here without considering purchasing power are missing the point. France has much higher wages, rents, taxes, energy and operating costs than India, so production and retail costs are higher. That's why the same bottle costs much more there.

I compared Fanta sold in France with the one sold in India. French Fanta contains around 4 teaspoons of sugar. Indian Fanta contains around 10 teaspoons of sugar. French Fanta does not contain artificial colours. Indian Fanta contains artificial colours. French Fanta contains real oranges. Indian Fanta does not contain oranges and uses “orange flavours”. French Fanta contains around 69 calories. Indian Fanta contains around 168 calories. Same brand. Same drink. Completely different product. The question is simple: Why are healthier formulations possible abroad, but not in India? INDIANS DESERVE BETTER!

@DealsDhamaka It's more of having a vast distribution network which is fine kudos to them, but in IPL matches making sure water is not being sold, even if available and keeping only campa cola as an available option to drink and charging 100 rs for a glass of great campa cola, peak reliance

Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness LP (once valued at $24B) sold its entire stock portfolio in one block trade after steep AI-rout losses, CNBC reports. BofA, Goldman & JPMorgan are helping unwind positions to meet margin calls. Fund was up ~439% through June.

Gold hit a 1-week high near $4,100 after the Fed held rates, then pared gains to +0.2% ($4,075) as Chair Warsh reaffirmed his 2% inflation commitment, lifting yields & the dollar. Markets now see just 64% odds of a Sept rate hike, down from 81%. Iran tensions keep inflation risks in focus.

KOSPI jumped ~3% intraday as Samsung's blowout Q2 earnings (chip profit up 250x YoY) sparked a rebound after a brutal selloff. Nikkei rose ~2%. Fed held rates steady amid split vote. China, HK, Australia mostly flat/lower. Iran tensions add uncertainty #Globalstocks

@Nithin0dha A practical solution is risk-based MTF. Tie leverage to a stock's beta/volatility and make it dynamic, higher the volatility, lower the leverage. It protects both brokers and clients

My biggest nightmare as a broker is what’s happening in the Korean markets right now. The source of my nightmare is the way our MTF book has been growing along with the industry as a whole. In terms of pure risk, MTF is by far the biggest risk we have taken since we started in 2010. More specifically, the risk lies in our ₹9,000-crore book: at least half of it is in non-F&O stocks, which can hit lower circuits every day without offering an exit. The problem with Korea is the one-way rally. When markets go up so sharply, leverage builds up because collateral values increase, leading to more borrowing and so on. The second layer of risk comes from the derivatives complex and leveraged ETFs, which further exacerbate moves on both the upside and downside. When the markets fall, things get really ugly. The first leg of selling tends to be small, but as collateral and margin values drop, margin calls increase, leading to forced selling. Forced unwinding from leveraged ETFs makes this worse, and this downside move becomes a self-reinforcing loop until things stabilize. Btw, MTF became popular only in the last 3–4 years, and we really haven’t seen a sharp market crash similar to the KOSPI since COVID. Even though MTF as a percentage of market cap is small, if the Indian markets were to fall sharply, it would cause severe sell-offs across many small- and mid-cap stocks. Brokers today typically provide MTF on ~1,500 stocks. 😬 Luckily, thanks to SEBI, we've avoided the worst excesses that typically arise from unchecked leverage. Btw, my colleague @prayagverma maintains a site with really good market stats, including MTF, here: mtf.trading

My rating of ways to make money in markets: Buying Options – Almost impossible Futures/Option Selling – Hard (one gap can wipe out gains) Swing Trading – Medium-Hard Accumulate & Track Results – Medium Buy & Hold without tracking results – Easy but Risky. Not investment advice.
