A signboard in the background tells you that this is West Bengal. I grew up in WB during peak CPM days & amidst many things I didn’t like, but today’s cultural deracination is abominable. And, the political party in power cannot always scream ‘outsider’ to evade responsibility!

@Schandillia Not sure if the rise of low grade service industry caused such vocations , it had its good points but gave rise to a culture where higher education wasn’t necessary. Even 20 yrs back, only way out of poverty was to study hard to get into jobs. AI will usher in another change..

-What did the two ladies do wrong to be left out from the dance?
-How come the claps sound louder than the singing, is he wearing a mic?
-Why no red carpet?

Given how professional Ian Bishop is, I am pretty much sure he will start doing this.
(I am not being sarcastic here. I am appreciating both Bishop’s professionalism AND the hard work put in by the reporters. Cricket needs both.)

I am all for the credit given to Ian Bishop for the research he puts into the junior cricketers. But he's reading up and giving you stories written by reporters in the front lines who have travelled to the small venues, interviewed aspiring cricketers in locations around the country and really put in the hard yards. To not credit the likes of @PurnimaMalhotra, @pratyush93_raj, @captainshanky and so many others while acknowledging Bish's efforts in reading up on them from the stories written by these reporters is a bit surprising. Every one of these stories are being heard on air because a reporter went and chased it down. Please do give them the credit they deserve.

@joybhattacharj @ovshake42 The practicality of the problem is how would a layman like me know. Only way would be for the likes of Mr Bishop to mention the source, in a live broadcast that becomes tedious.May be the broadcasting companies, should have a credit roll post the match.

@ovshake42 Abhishek, he does not need to. All I ask is the people who credit him on social media also appreciate the fact that someone has gone to a lot of trouble to research and report the story. They deserve some credit and praise as well.

Those so-called Bengali Organization who claim that Ram Navami is not part of Bengal's culture only know how to shout Joy Bangla.
They have no real understanding of Bengali history or culture. They are mere sycophants and ignorant people.
Ram Navami was celebrated in Kolkata even in 1787. There used to be a government holiday as well.
