In December 2020, after almost a year of Covid shutdowns and quarantines, my spirit was flagging. I had run a completely new role meant to be based in London, from Singapore. I had planned and rescheduled relocations, twice. I was tired of restrictions, of worrying about people, of being resilient. All I wanted to do was pack a bag and go off on a wilderness trek. Which I obviously couldn’t. Then I found a Netflix series that saved me. Magical Andes. (Andes Magico). A beautiful documentary on the world’s longest mountain range - the Andes. Taking us on a journey from the Antarctic-touching tip of Chile to the Bolivian salt-marshes. Brilliantly shot and directed by Luis Ara and Alexandra Hardof. Breathtaking vistas. Charming people. Spirit of the mountains. It was transcendental. And healing. Like a real trip to the mountains and forests and rivers. Since then, I watch it every year. This time, I noticed it is set to leave the platform by March end. So hollering out to fellow nature-lovers. Watch it, if you haven’t. It could be just the magical break you need, from all the negativity around.

One of the things that baba packs into my bag. Iykyk “tok jhal mishti”chanachur Sour, hot and sweet just a metaphor for life… the mix when experienced at different points of life makes it yummy at the end of it all.
