@IndianTechGuide There should be ceiling on school fees, has to be affordable to everyone. 1. Let govt provide tax discount. 2. school businesses have become profit centres. Unless quality school is affordable, you continue to see difference in cut offs between classes of people in higher courses

@Dhimahi11 Not sure what you expect there. Its a historical place with great temples architecture. It has very decent places to stay. Lots of veg hotels who serve good food. As regards to language, people speak very beautiful dialect of kannada, you can't expect everyone to speak Eng/Hindi.

Recently I visited Hampi (Karnataka). A few observations from a first time visitor POV -People out there really talk in highly encrypted language. Zero chance of understanding what other people are talking about. -Hampi is all about architecture and history. -Every tourist spot shut down at 6 pm. Basically no nightlife -Regarding food, being purely vegetarian is tough. Most of the cafe serve both veg and non veg together. Last, South Indian food tastes better in North India.

@ashwinmahesh @TVMohandasPai I think Ejipura flyover is a biggest monumetnal failure of Bengaluru (irrespective of party). Nothing can justify this. This should be case studies how not to plan, execute a project.

TO BYPASS OR NOT TO BYPASS? Should we build a road through a neighbourhood or town, or should we build around it - or over it, as is the case nowadays? Let's look at three different examples. === The Ejipura flyover on 17th Main through the heart of Koramangala more or less bypasses the neighbourhood completely. People who're just trying to get through will no doubt like that, and so will the people who live, work, shop, etc. below it. They don't need their neighbourhood cluttered up by people who are just going by. And it's not much of a drive to either end of the flyover, so it may not matter to a lot of people that they can't use it. Now look at the double decker road in South Bangalore, connecting Ragigudda to points east and south of Silk Board. This flyover does the same thing as the Ejipura one, skipping past a lot of place. But it's twice a long, but also doesn't have any on-ramps except at its ends. If you live near Jayadeva, for example, you couldn't get on it. The infra is going right by you, but it's not for you. Future double decker projects are likely to be a little different, with more on and off ramps below the Orange Line metro stretches, but that was inevitable given how long that is. One can't build 20+ km double deckers inside the city and connect only the ends. A variant of this question applies to towns and cities. When the Myusur expressway opened, a lot of the towns along the way, which one would pass through previously, are now away from or below the road. That has reduced traffic in those places, but also reduced the number of people patronising businesses there. Channapatna, Janapadaloka, Maddur ... there are lots of reasons to stop, but these days that doesn't happen unless it's planned that way by travelers. We're moving into an era of big infrastructure throughout the country. It has its benefits. It has its downsides too. And nearly all of this is happening without much public involvement. Like everything else in our governance, there is a take-what-you-get approach to this too. We can do better than that. It's a lot more work, but it's worth careful consideration. Bypassing people is tightly woven into bypassing places, and it shouldn't be taken so lightly.

@dakshinapata @shilpa_cn He is definitely proactive when peoples rights are concerned(which is fundamental), a true judge. Remember he was the one who rejected CBI probe into CMs Muda case. So it can go either ways.

I grew up in India where a Muslim could have a beer with his non Muslim friends and a Hindu could eat beef fry with his non Hindu friends. And India where pani puri thelas played movie songs, not devotional songs. I miss the India I grew up in. A lot. This Bharat is a fucking gutter.

@va_a14 @RaniSandhy90 This is a wrong attitude to have. If people goto Germany, they learn German. If they goto France, they learn French. Because people there dont speak English even if they know it. Please respect local culture, learn few words. Kannada is a great culture.

@manoj_216 All this on top of almost 20-30% income tax. At least a tax payer need to get a free health insurance such as CGHS for the amount of if tax paid. There is absolutely no incentive for honest tax payers here.

@venkat_fin9 PF rules need to be made more flexible, after 5 years , one should be able to withdraw as much as the educational and health expenses are mire now a days. Lack of secured investment schemes might still make people to use this, but should be optional.

First of all, PF should be made optional for all salaried employees who choose the New Tax Regime. PF is a dead investment. There are far better and more flexible investment opportunities outside this outdated scheme. It’s absurd that companies still forcefully deduct 12% of basic pay as employee PF and another 12% as employer contribution, locking away 24% of basic pay in an account that barely grows. And all this, without any tax benefit under the new regime. This is nothing short of daylight robbery on salaried employees. The government must step up and allow complete exemption from PF contributions for anyone opting for the New Tax Regime. Let people decide how to invest their own money, not some outdated system stuck in the 1980s. @officialepfo @narendramodi
