California @lyft driver pointed at a dog and denied a ride to a woman with a service dog, even though the dog was wearing a vest with a visible “Seizure Alert Dog” sign. Jaime Simpson is not only a huge epilepsy advocate, but she also relies on her service dog to assist and protect her during epilepsy attacks. Under the ADA and California law, this driver broke the law.

And if the driver is allergic to dogs? Or afraid of them because of their own issues? Or simply doesn't want to have their car that they have to do business in smelling like dog for themselves or any other customer they pick up? Who gives a shit about CA's draconian laws. The truth is your rights end where someone else's begin. Requiring the company to have an option you select through the app for these situations is one thing but forcing every driver to deal with that is ludicrous.

Gonna go ahead and call shenanigans on the gross misuse of the term “exponentially” here. Are we really calling an increase from 800 to 8,800 “exponential?” Is that what we’re doing now? I guess 1 is technically an exponent (approx. 800 x 10^1), but “exponentially” sure is doing a lot of work when the actual number is only being raised to the 1st power.
