This headline is ableist trash. Shame on you @michaelsearles_ for writing such utter nonsense. Expect a strong written rebuttal in due course. Dr O Olusanya Consultant Intensivist, St Bartholomew’s hospital GMC 6100365

@DrLKVaughan This drives me mad too. The original assertion was that a CNS should have comparable knowledge in their narrow scope, eg heart failure, as an ST5, ie a gen cardio SpR doing HF work. Never that they had the knowledge/expertise of an ST5 cardiologist. Never equivalence. Nuance key.

on their FIRST day as doctors. The claim now is that ACP training = ST5 doctor. This is genuinely mad. How is it remotely possible that 3 yrs base degree + 2 years work + 3 yrs course (part-time) = 5 yrs medical school + 2 yrs Foundation + 3 yr Core + 2yrs as a Reg? 9/

Dear Gordon, Thanks for the offer to discuss RCEM's stance on workforce substitution. I would be delighted to engage. Firstly, I think that RCEM is the best of all the Colleges. I am not a member, but I have sat on RCEM committees and had good relationships with most 1/

@pash22 @anaesthetic_spr @RCEMpresident @RCollEM @RCEMvp_Salwa I’m sorry you have such a poorly informed view of this College. I’ll be happy to meet with you. Just DM me. By the way are you one of our members?

Virtual wards for acute #heartfailure are the aim from @NHSEngland Are they safe? Are HF teams embedded in patient pathways? What are the barriers for care closer to home? Complex comorbidity and social care are significant challenges @uclh, but #teamwork works! #BSHAM25

Each year, 40–60k people in England are diagnosed with high-risk heart failure. Current waits of 7–8 weeks for echo mean 13% are hospitalised before review. A 2-week pathway could cut this to under 5%, avoiding thousands of admissions and saving trusts and ICBs millions in costs and bed days. St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with NHS England, is seeking 5 additional pilot sites to fast-track adoption of the 2- and 6-week HF pathways by March 2026. Funding of up to £40k is available, with support from NHS-approved transformation teams and HF clinical leaders. For interested the sites, the EOI online form (forms.office.com/Pages/Response…) needs to be submitted by close of business Friday October 17th 2025. For more information or to submit an EOI please contact stefanie.dimov1@nhs.net

@trentconsultant We did Level 3 as a F2F session with our lead Safeguarding Nurse during an audit day. It took something that is otherwise very abstract and made it relevant and helpful. Would highly recommend as a more useful approach!

Still struggling to get through my mandatory training safeguarding level 3. Learning about abusive head trauma now. I don’t look after babies. The closest I get is 16 year olds with torsion.
