Living in Dallas, I’m extremely shocked by the Mavericks Luka Dončić trade to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis as much as if/when they will announce the Mavs move of the team to Las Vegas (which I expect will come in the near future). This trade is a move that in my opinion will haunt the Mavs for the next 10+ years (at least) and fans will remember this even trade if they don’t unjustifiably move the franchise to LV as they just alienated and betrayed their entire fan base in a single night. I feel they will seriously regret this trade. Not only did Dallas lose a franchise altering HOF player, we also lost the effing trade as we received only a fraction of what Luka was actually worth. Getting a 31 year old unibrow (not knocking Davis just angry about Luka) for a 25 year old and on top of this Dallas will only one 1st rounder in 2029. Three or more unprotected 1sts would be more realistic, but even then I wouldn’t make this move as I would need 5 to even remotely consider this). I’m mad and heartbroken at the same time, the Mavs obviously think they can win now with AD and because of Luka’s diet, weight issue (which he still played like a mvp at this weight) and conditioning problems, they feel we will be better selling him while he is still on a high (I guess). I obviously completely disagree. Luka didn’t even know of the trade (I could maybe see if Dončić forced Dallas’s hand and demanded a trade) but the Mav’s approached the Lakers and didn’t shop it around either to see if there was a better deal (which I am 100% certain their would have been). This whole move is beyond questionable and sad as this is a franchise altering once in a generation player and my son’s favorite all time player (and mine too behind Dirk) and he’s going to a team/city that is not my favorite too (being polite as this is not against AD, Los Angeles or Las Vegas). I am more than unhappy with a franchise that I have supported time wise and financially. We have a slogan in Dallas, MFFL which stands for Mavs Fan For Life . . . this Luka Dončić move brings me to question this slogan. Respectfully
