Re-enacting Memory: four years ago today we lost a dear friend. Ray was a marvelous academic and teacher. He encouraged me and mentored me in my interests in history. Generous with his time, he did this for many others. Loved and fondly remembered by many!

The Battle of Arroyo dos Molinos, fought #OnThisDay 28 October 1811. Commanded by Gen. Rowland Hill, who'd asked Wellington's to engage the enemy Division of Gen. Girard, it was a decisive victory, scattering the French forces for only light casualties.
