If the Nuggets play really well and crush a team, they will relax next game and play like shit. Then they’ll come out the game after that and kick someone’s ass. Then they’ll be complacent and happy and lose to a tanking team. Then they’ll get mad next game…you get it

Obviously they coulda used Aaron Gordon, but brutal SEGABABA's are when 10+ year vets are supposed to rest anyway, especially if there are short/long term injury concerns.
I have ZERO problem with one starter resting. They just have to play more than 7 guys in the 2nd half.

@dlynch_esq @Its_Wade I only care inasmuch as I don't want any Nuggets rushing back from injury to meet benchmarks in their contract. It's pretty clear that Jokic could have used an extra week of conditioning but the difference in his contract between making all NBA or not was likely a factor.

I'm cool with individual awards requiring 65 games. All-NBA & All Defense should be 58 imo.

I think the NBA should've implemented the 65-game threshold for MVP only. All other awards should've been set to 58, which falls in line with the scoring title.

This Is the game that swung me. I don't think this Nuggets team will become what I thought they'd be. Poor discipline, leadership, toughness. All the potential to be special but something is off if you can't win against a team trying to lose when your season is on the line

@Adam_Mares A team (& coach) that's trying to lose doesn't full court press make or miss for 48 minutes with the knowledge that their opponent got to bed at 6 AM. A frustrating L for sure, but NOT a fate determining L. This was always going to be a hell game. If we lose when rested, perhaps.

Nikola Jokic matched a career-high with 10 turnovers, and the Nuggets lost their rescheduled game in Memphis, 125-118. They’re 42-28. When an opposing organization is trying to lose, you should probably oblige them.

With the talent the Nuggets have on their roster, I’ll always be optimistic that they can still compete at a high level. However, this upcoming offseason is shaping up to be an extremely consequential one depending on the playoff result. I wouldn’t be surprised at major changes

Just last night, Nikola Jokic and David Adelman both insisted they feel like the Nuggets have been playing well recently even without consistent wins to show for it. Do you buy what they’re saying? Was tonight just disastrous scheduling? Or something seriously wrong with Denver?

@SmoothsHoops They were wise to think they should be able to rest AG. They were unwise to play THJ, especially nearly 30 minutes. Why does it have to be any more convoluted than that?

@prmorphine I like talking with other Nuggets fans? This team has access to more data than we could ever possibly imagine. They went into that game thinking (correctly, imo) that they wouldn’t need AG to win. They have an entire staff of extremely smart people. They’re not trying to lose.

@prmorphine In the same way there are five guys on the court at any one time, there are 48 minutes in every game. Cam played 34 minutes tonight. Spencer played 27 (and was a minus-22). Should Cam have played 40 and matched Jokic/Murray/Braun? Maybe? With the pace they were playing, IDK.
