@skinoayan @Ssaasquatch But It’s the same logic behind ETFs. He’s essentially built his own mini portfolio, like creating a pie on Trading 212. Do you think his risk appetite may be low and his goal is capital preservation with moderate growth?

@prncewl_k @Ssaasquatch Except that is not an ETF. Also he probably didn’t but all the stocks at the same time and he may not close them all at the same time too.

@tosinolaseinde If he has low risk appetite and his goal is capital preservation with moderate growth, don’t you think spreading across 10 stocks is the right move? It’s the same logic behind ETFs. He’s essentially built his own mini portfolio, like creating a pie on Trading 212

@prncewl_k The difference is weighting. Although S&P 500 tracks 500 of the largest companies listed in the U.S 10 stocks account for about 47% of the index. Weighting matters too.

@Rxbremen You also have to consider his risk appetite and duration in the stock market. If he’s just starting to learn how stock market works, it’s safer to spread it across multiple companies. Like you said, no hard or fast rule

@FinestDoveTruth Workplace pension is yours & accessible from 57, employer contributions included. The generational transfer where today’s workers fund today’s retirees is the NI contributions. Not your workplace pot. Two mechanisms. One you control, the other you don’t. Rest of the post, spot on

A lot of British 🇬🇧 people are way past retirement age but cannot retire. The pension system seems to be pushing them back to work… The guy who designed the uk 🇬🇧 pension system should be paid double. If he has children, the government should reward them for their father’s smartness.. See it this way… You’re working. You’re paying tax. You’re paying National Insurance. You’re paying pension. You think you’re securing your future. But are you… or are you funding someone else’s retirement? As mandate by the government auto-enrolment system, You put in 5%. Your employer adds 3%. For NHS, one of the biggest employers in the uk 🇬🇧, they add 20%. But here is where it gets dicey. You cannot just access your money when you want. Right now, it’s 55. Soon, it becomes 57. And here’s the real kicker: It will ALWAYS stay 10 years below the State Pension age. So when government shifts retirement to 70… You’ll wait till 60 to touch your own money. Now let’s talk about the big one: State Pension. You need: 10 years minimum to get anything 35 years to get full And the full pension today is about £221 per week.. Can you sincerely live on that?? Now here’s where it gets uncomfortable for immigrants especially above 45 as at the time of migration... If you came to the UK 🇬🇧 at 50… You will likely NEVER reach 35 years in service. Let that sink in. You can work. Pay tax. Pay NI. And still retire with HALF a pension. Do the maths. 15–17 years of contributions? You’re looking at maybe £5k–£6k a year in retirement. In the UK 🇬🇧 where rent alone can wipe that out in months. So if by chance you are unable to own a house before you retire, your best bet is council housing….. which you can be in the queue for as long as God knows when. The UK pension system is not a savings account. It is a generational agreement. Today’s workers fund today’s retirees. Tomorrow? Someone else will fund yours. But what if you joined the system late? That’s the quiet reality many immigrants don’t hear: You might pay in fully… …but never withdraw fully. So while you’re planning your life around “retirement”… The system is quietly moving the goalpost. This is not fear-mongering. It’s structure. It’s policy. It’s how the system was designed. So what’s the takeaway? Don’t rely on one stream. Not the government. Not your employer. Build your own safety net. Because if you don’t… You might wake up at 67 still trying to survive, not retire. A lot of British are rather retirement age but cannot retire. Do with this information what you like. ~FinestDove

@olumidecapital The NGX traded in overbought territory all through 2025, yet still delivered a 51.20% gain. Investors are irrational, I won’t be surprised to see the upward trend continue.

🇳🇬 stock market is in overbought territory, this implies that even though the trend is clearly upward, a brief period of consolidation or “cooling off” is in play

@AkonamAustine @xagreat My brother, nobody send me o. I truly wish we could do better as a country. But as events unfold I question our ability to do so. INEC, the Judiciary, military & police all seem to be under the control of the ruling party. What are the chances of a free and fair election?

A single mum in the UK shared what she’s passing through to me. I’m a single mum living in the UK. I’ve noticed a pattern. Men approach me , especially social media because I’m beautiful. They’re interested, consistent, even planning dates. Then they ask: “Do you have kids?” The moment I say yes, they either ghost or slowly fade. But here’s the part that hurts:Some still want to “link up” just not commit. So I’m good enough for fun, but not for a future?🤔😳 why are UK men so quick to walk away from single mothers? Kindly advise her. She’ll read the CS.

GMC won’t pause PLAB. You can advise them to stop making money! 🤣 USMLE is more expensive - Cost of exams, cost of applying to programs and cost of supplementary application for those who didn’t match. Their matching process just feels complicated to me - like gamble. Again I’ll say getting into specialty program in UK is a great option. Pass the exam and during application just select all regions and NHS Trust to boost your chances. Canada is another option, I understand they’ve created a special visa category for doctors

The GMC should pause PLAB exams for at least 5 years. Let’s call a spade a spade. Fix whatever is going on with the system first before opening the floodgates to IMGs. Because right now, paying for PLAB feels like throwing money into a well. The fees are increased too? 😭 You pay. You pass. And then what? No job. No return on investment. Just false excitement and false hope. There are too many IMGs stuck in this exact position. The problem isn’t passing the exams, it’s what comes after. If you have the resources, seriously consider other pathways like USMLE. At this point, one year grinding for USMLE Step 1 might do more for you than passing both PLAB 1 & 2. IMGs, make a choice.

@TomolaGroup Most owners made money from trading/investing, then use the money they made to become owners. Also, not everyone can own a whole business so some go through different route - long term stock ownership

The wealthiest people in Nigeria are not traders. They are owners. Dangote does not trade cement stocks. He owns the cement company. Rabiu does not trade food stocks. He owns the food company. Adenuga does not trade telecom stocks. He owns the telecom company. Ownership is the highest form of investing. Whether you own 100% of a small business or 0.001% of a listed company through shares, the principle is the same. You are participating in the profits of an enterprise. The question is not whether you can afford to be an owner. The question is whether you can afford not to be.

A qualified doctor is about to leave the UK without ever getting a job. She did everything right: - Medical degree (Ukraine) - 1 year internship (Ukraine) - Passed PLAB 1 & 2 - GMC registered - Fully licensed Over 12 months of applications. Rejection after rejection. She even did clinical attachments in UK hospitals to improve his chances. Still nothing. Now her visa is about to expire. And the only "offer" she’s found? £10,000 for a Certificate of Sponsorship as a health care assistant. Let that sink in. A trained doctor ready to work, But the system won’t let her in💔 How many more are in this exact situation?

So by this time that year, Judas had already gotten the alert and you just know he was checking his balance like: “30 pieces of silver? I’m rich” Man probably refreshed the app 5 times, sighed, then whispered: “Abi I should have collected more”? 🤣🤣
