@proof_and_co @frerejones Eric, who designed Landform, puts it between geometric and grotesque, but also says it doesn’t neatly fit either. It's an interesting question — when exactly does something become a trend that deserves classification or does it fit into an existing category.

@processtype's Sculpin starts to hit in this direction, too. And I'd say @frerejones's Mallory is one of the originators of this new(?) style, but the closest they get to categorizing it is Geometric, but there's so much more to it than that. (It's like a geo-humanist?)

We need some help: how would you classify this style of typeface? Some examples: Lipo from @SCTF Landform from @processtype Multima from Studio Rene Bieder Its not quite a grotesk, not quite a humanist, not quite a gothic, not quite anything else really. Any thoughts?

@tntype Have you tried comparing the .ttf and .otf? TTX both and then compare/diff in a text editor. Maybe you'll find a clue as to what's different between the two, since one works as expected and the other doesn't.
