@Rory_Talks_Ball True, but take two players of the same talent, the one with a better physique would be in advantage. Messi is an anomaly.

Information that is utterly useless to everyone except Mexico Big fan of Ornstein but I really wish these English journos would stick to transfer news rather than leaking our team news ahead of time

@DarrenArsenal1 @SkySportsPL Don’t get the hate for RvP. Scored some unbelievable goals at Arsenal. Got an offer from United and then went on to win a title. Wenger was a busted flush at that time and had taken us as far as he could go. 🤷‍♂️

@Wanalyst007 Edu put together a title challenger squad from nothing. He is a legend for buying bargains even when we didnt have CL.

After Arteta joined Arsenal, the only 2 employees at the club who had more power than him were Edu and Vinai Both left Arsenal last season for new roles at 1 - Tottenham who had just won the Europa League for the 1st time in their history 2 - Forest who had just qualified for the next season's Europa League against all odds Both have turned two up and coming clubs into a car crash. Edu is now being fired while Vinai has Spurs in the relegation zone for the first time in god knows how long This goes to show the handicap Arteta was working with. How his work at Arsenal deserves more fame, recognition and respect than it already gets We can never thank him enough

It's so easy right now for Brighton to drive passes and bodies through the middle. Twice they've had give and go chances with a forward posting up and they're driving passes through gaps that don't usually exist in Arsenal defences. A function of heavy legged Zubimendi and Rice?

@1886_blog Zubi has been a bit underwhelming this season - probably overplayed though. Still, it feels like an adaptation season for him.

For what it’s worth, Trossard, Eze, Zubi and Gyok have been really poor.

@timstillman_ @theiconic15 Such a valid point tbh. The team is mentally in a different state when we need a goal to when we need to keep the score, and not in a positive way. We tend to suffer until we score the first goal, but when the opponent opens up and pushes up, we should exploit it, not get scared.

the repeatable lesson, I hope, is to keep going for goals even when ahead, so if you do have a bozo moment it doesn't matter because you scored four. The desire to keep scoring at 2-1 is the (psychological) element I want to see repeated. I totally agree tactically this game is unlikely to repeat.

I don’t think much of Sunday is repeatable, think Spurs had a flawed approach which was executed badly by poor players. Though don’t think that matters as it should settle us down, and hopefully lead to more composed performances

@timstillman_ They felt suicidical tbh, not that I’m complaining! Like they watched us suffer in recent games and decided to do something completely different.

Have to credit the tactical plan yesterday given Spurs have never played under Igor Tudor. Clearly knew Tottenham were going to surrender central areas by playing a back five and allow Arsenal time and space at the edge of the box. Have to question whether Igor Tudor even watched the last NLD when Thomas Frank fell into exactly the same trap with exactly the same game plan.

You can’t just scream “Arteta Out” and think that that’s a solution. Complete the circle. Tell us who you think can replace him and do a better job.

@AliquamScripto Hard disagree. Didn’t have the squad. Lost Saliba and Tomiyasu in the same game and next man up was Rob Holding. We had to try to win the league with 13 players and hope and we didn’t get the injury luck

Anyone blaming Martinelli needs to give their head a wobble. He probably could do better but it was the first really good chance we created and it was in the 93rd minute. Bigger issue was lack of chances created - you can’t rely on scoring from only 1/2 decent chances per game.

@fkhanage They've lost twice at home all season we got a point you take it and move on, your bigger complaint should be Martinelli again not being clinical in the league that's the difference

Arteta opened his post-match by saying “Brentford are difficult to dominate.” You don’t need to be so obsessed with dominating every team every game. Sometimes you have to accept a team will be better than you, have more of the ball than you, and you need to find ways to score.

Today is a must-win. The Havertz injury is a huge blow but Arsenal haven’t stayed top of the Premier League for the entire season without him through luck. The players need to trust in their abilities and show cool heads and they will prevail.* *I will be unable to keep calm
