if you prefer stevens's politics, that's as good a reason as any to support her, but this "stink of association" thinking is a scourge on the party wherever it comes from (ironically, this was one of the main alienating parts of "peak woke")

I don’t like Stevens and I don’t like El-Sayed, but it’s important specifically to defeat and exile people like El-Sayed so we don’t have the stink of association of people like this in the Democratic Party. No matter how much you might like him, some things are a bridge too far

relatedly, a lot of the bull case on kamala harris in 2028 is "well what happens when she wins south carolina" and i think people are not considering that this might happen and then someone else might win other states, because other states vote too

the brutal part is that el-sayed is losing and not winning like he has in other recent polls i don't really believe "brutal crosstabs" matter much anymore, doing better among black voters is good because getting more votes is better than fewer with any demographic

Honestly, brutal crosstabs for El-Sayed. El-Sayed is the candidate of college educated whites. Stevens gets the others. Union crosstabs need to split things up by public/private/academic union membership.
