From food processing to agribusiness, the impact is real: stronger incomes, growing enterprises, and more resilient local economies. @FINDEF1 transformation is the goal, not just training. Through the Strengthening Food Systems Project, implemented in partnership with the World Food Programme @WFP and the Mastercard Foundation @MastercardFdn, young people and women are gaining more than skills. They're building sustainable businesses and shaping their futures. This is what meaningful change looks like.

Earlier today, at the NYCN’s Annual leadership retreat organized by chairman @progresswithpapa_jr and his team I spoke to young people on leadership and the future of Nigeria’s youth. My message was simple: we are the leaders we’ve been waiting for. We must take charge of our communities mobilize, organize, and demand better, starting with ourselves. When we raise our own standards, society raises its expectations of us. To build economic power, we must move from job seekers to job creators start businesses, scale ideas, innovate, and employ others. To build political power, we must engage: join political parties, participate actively, contest, win or even in contesting, gain visibility, credibility, and relevance. Under His Excellency Dikko Radda @dikko_radda youth-focused platforms already exist KATDICT for tech, KASEDA for MSMEs, and KYCV for skills development. The real question is: how are you leveraging them? The time for complaints is over. The time for action is now.

Justice for Abdulrahim!
Engr Yasir MNSE 🏗@oil_shaeikh

WE DEMAND JUSTICE FOR ENGINEER ABDULRAHEEM MUSTAPHA. @Abdoulrahiem @PoliceNG_CRU @PoliceNG Engr. Abdurraheem Mustapha Abubakar was a graduate of ABU Zaria, currently working with a construction company in Abuja. Alongside his job, he was pursuing his Master’s degree in Engineering at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, where he attended weekend classes. Last friday, 29th August-2025 On his way to NDA for lectures, near Garkuwa Junction, he was tragically killed in an incident involving a Kaduna State Police van. The police vehicle hit the motorcycle (“Okada”) he was riding on, and afterwards, an officer struck him on the head with a heavy bamboo stick (“Kokara”). Eyewitnesses at the scene confirmed what happened. However, instead of taking responsibility, the police carried him to the station and allegedly made a false statement claiming that his motorcycle had collided with a car, which they used as justification for their actions. The police, who are supposed to protect lives, ended up taking one in cold blood. This is injustice of the highest order, and we demand justice for Engr. Abdurraheem. #JusticeForAbdurraheem #NigeriaPolice #NigeriaPoliceForce #KadunaStateGovernment

The messages, calls and well wishes are more important to me than the appointment—if any. I am really short of words to describe or express how grateful I am for your show of support and solidarity. With or without appointment, we will continue to live a life full of value and service to Nigeria. We will continue to serve until we are told of service no more. And for students, job seekers and twitter for opportunities, it’s death that will do us apart😄 God bless us and so help us God!

Today, I had the honour of attending a high-level engagement with UNICEF, hosted by the Special Adviser to His Excellency the Governor on Girl-Child Education, Hajiya Jamila Mani. At the heart of our discussion was a transformative initiative to empower almajirai pupils with vocational and life skills that promote dignity, self-reliance, and opportunity. UNICEF, ably represented by Hajiya Fatima, shared a comprehensive roadmap to reduce street begging through targeted skills acquisition in tailoring, barbering, and more. As Executive Chairman of Katsina Local Government, I am proud to announce our readiness to formalize this partnership. This initiative aligns with our broader commitment to youth development, community empowerment, and the vision of His Excellency, Governor Dikko Umar Radda, for a safe, skilled, and prosperous Katsina. Together, we are building a future where no child is left behind.
