No matter what you do, an agent can reverse engineer it in 15 minutes (trust me I tried).
There are things you can do to make it really hard to steal, but then you end up creating so much friction for the end user that you’re impacting your customers which is a no go for me.
I watched a lot of gaming companies lose good faith because of their oppressive DRM measures.
You need to offer value beyond the code. I provide great customer service. If you have any bugs with my code, I usually respond with a few hours. A lot of studios and businesses buy my software and need a reliable, *legal* solution with support.

Do threejs asset sellers protect what they sell? Especially when providing a demo online? Agents can just reverse engineer it right? Or do we just trust our users with licensing? What do you do @dangreenheck ?

Just published github.com/promontis/thre…, which is a @threejs WebGPU TSL surface material with built-in parallax occlusion mapping (POM).
Demo: promontis.github.io/threejs-pom/

@promontis @WebGPU Make the smaller when recording for smoother videos 🤙

@azurestrix @threejs @WebGPU Not sure why in the video it feels like lag. It doesn't really lag at all. Might need to create a new video

Added POM to @threejs. I didn't see an out-of-the-box implementation... did I miss something?

We’ve just launched the First Gaussian Splatting Volumetrics Pack, featuring 25 high-fidelity clouds. This is a major milestone for the 3DGS ecosystem, which is becoming a widely used creative tool for VFX and motion design studios! Get them here: thepixellab.net/gaussian-splat…

@paradite_ @conductor_build Yup! For sure a human limit. Maybe it can be trained to allow for more. Although, already feeling a brain tax every evening
English

the problem with agent management tools like @conductor_build is human brain's context window.
i can only fit 5-6 parallel agents' task, progress and status into my brain. beyond that it gets very hard to maintain context when switching between workspaces.
also with increased productivity, you are blasting through many tasks a day, which goes into your brain's long term memory. at the end of the day, you might forget what you did and lose track of what's important.
anyone else feeling this way?

Usually once a month I allow myself to work on something experimental and fun even though it's not important for the current stage of the project.
Since I haven't had time for these "developer fun days" for a while, I decided that today would be one of these.
Here's some experimental terrain stuff that I did today:
- Parallax mapping / depth gradients
- Parallax self shadows
Pretty "old school" tech by modern standards but visually quite stable and relatively cheap for rendering.

@epragt Switched back to Opus 😂 Codex felt worse. I’m now forcing Opus to 4.5 and that feels normal again
English

@epragt Did the same just moments ago; same reason. Switching to Codex after being on max 20x for a year or so

@janusch_patas I don’t know about this… feels a little bit shady

Thank you for contributing to the LichtFeld Studio project!
I have some awesome news. Many people have already decided to donate to the LFS project. Thanks to this support, I’m now able to issue the first grant to Shady Gmira (see linkedin link in comment as he is not here), which will help move the project forward faster.
Shady is already well known for winning the densification bounty, continuously supporting users here and on GitHub, authoring multiple plugins (Densification, Sharp (4D), and COLMAP), and regularly contributing code to LichtFeld.
Shady will be working part-time on the project throughout May alongside his studies. He will mainly focus on supporting the RAD format for LoDs and will also likely implement an asset manager for storing and inspecting your 3DGS files inside LFS.
Going forward, if the situation allows, I would like to continue doing this, preferably by supporting people who already have experience with and have already contributed to this project.
Next time, with more planning upfront, we will decide more collaboratively which features should be implemented through portal.lichtfeld.io.
Please keep supporting this project!
