I’m the only Black person on my team at work. What I tried to shy away from was having to talk about all these issues going on in some sort of all white diversity meeting. But here I am singled out “sharing my experiences” so that I can “educate” eveyone.

@BAMEedNetwork Well, I told him that staff need diversity training. I could see only a few teachers borrowing the books. He agreed on things but then expects me to lead on the initiatives, which I feel is unfair. I don’t want to be the black spokesperson for the school.

I was literally told on the spot that I was co-leading a diversity training. Luckily I knew wtf I was talkin bout but it was literally the morning OF and ... like most “diversity trainings” it was really a place meant to coddle yt ppl so I was like ...?????

My job is literally forcing us to have these challenging convos with our co workers at the professional Development... I often ask myself like why do I have to educate my white co-workers on how to act and speak around black and browns? Do they not see the news...smh
