People removed from the direct experience of to totalitarianism really do not seem to be able to grasp just how fast even the most basic democratic freedoms can collapse. It doesn’t just happen “there”, it can truly happen (anyw)here. Never take freedom for granted.

@snacklesbian I understand & (in many tho not all ways) agree. But in the context of the very real world (globally, beyond just ie EU bubble etc) it is already quite entrenched & won’t magically disappear (not unlike a lot of military tech for example). Idealism is admirable yet dangerous too
