@H_Grove @proud_x2 That's not even true soccer has huge participation at the youngest ages. Our best athletes are absolutely playing soccer, but they're not being properly developed, and often give it up. Really most kids who grow to d1 size in football/basketball aren't ideal for soccer anyhow

I think United States soccer is unfortunately doomed to this result as its peak. We have four sports that are far more profitable and far more popular. Most countries don’t have one sport that is more profitable and more popular. Just have to accept reality. #USA

@B_Hammer1 @H_Grove I agree with some of what you’re saying. Youth soccer has huge turnouts, and you’re also right about the quality of coaching that they receive. But when it comes to male sports, most absolutely give up soccer for the more popular sports.

Cal Poly is a very solid team. However, they did struggle against P5 opponents. 0-4 vs USC, 0-3 vs Oregon State and 2-2 vs Washington State. They beat Va Tech in the LA Regional but never faced UCLA. So overall record against P5 is 3-9.
