@notjustbtstras1 i still dont understand why ppl r reading this as "shutting down ZK" or "kia being a KA" they probably are just well aware of the whole fan ship wars and acted this way, i didn't think much of it... already saw someone insulting dallas callin him werido cos they assumed hes ZK 😭

@Script_Scribble like this is the biggest sign to disprove that theory, also i never really bought it cos the only one that sort of resembles the avatar is ta min and that's only aang's child self, the others do not even lookalike whatsoever

@gonzalo57951573 @actium10811 @kiyodia @Shadechu_N again i never justified their actions 😭😭 their rage is valid not their actions i already said it many times i never meant to say their actions were justified just cos they're were also victims

@prutraliah @actium10811 @kiyodia @Shadechu_N Rage isnt a justified reason to be a villain. Theres a line between revenge and perpetuating the cycle of abuse and thats exactly what Jet and Hama got wrong. They leant to hurt innocent civilians who got stuck in a war they didnt chose, just like they were.

@bosberus @kiyodia @Shadechu_N yes but again my point was for ppl putting them on the same level as actual villains like all i wanted to say is that we can empathize with them and they arent inherently evil but their actions r not justified whatsoever, their feelings are like we're on the same page

@prutraliah @kiyodia @Shadechu_N Agreed, I said their motivations and anger is understandable but their resulting actions are not. I also agree that they could be redeemed but that's not their story. They are here to underscore Aangs/Kataras choices. Unwillingness to resort to the tactics of their oppressors.

@bosberus @kiyodia @Shadechu_N ofc n im not saying every character needs a redemption but my issue is to just call them villain/inherently evil when theres valid reason behind their rage not justifying their actions or saying their innocent but realistically if iroh and zuko can redeem themselves so could they

@prutraliah @kiyodia @Shadechu_N Zukos change of heart is inherently more narratively interesting since he is further on the side of a perpetrator at the start of the story. We already understand very clearly from the outset what motivates Jet. That's why they choose Zuko as a character with a redemption arc.2/2

@prutraliah @actium10811 @kiyodia @Shadechu_N Yes, there may be valid reasons for their anger, BUT this is not a valid reason for their actions. Can you understand them? Yes, and we do, but we also understand that because of the acts they committed, they ARE villains.

@prutraliah @kiyodia @Shadechu_N "You cant be a villain if you have a valid reason to be angry" is actually a deeply ignorant and morally repugnant position to take. Your "different opinion" is bad. Its really bad. Matches with the language of abusers bad. Specifically used to justify oppression bad.

@major_namada i actually disagree with this one she does not look white just cos she's pale also a lot of east asians have naturally fair skin, but yes there's a lot of white washing in this franchise just she's not the best example

@bosberus @prutraliah @kiyodia It stops being tragic when we know they couldn't allow a comic writer to do anything with Jet, claiming "he died" even if it was unsure in the OG show, due to their insecurities over Jetara tbh. Jet should have lived and having his own second chance. Many people died already sooo

@actium10811 @kiyodia @Shadechu_N oh here we go blowing things out of proportion immediately running to accuse others of being bad just cos yall cant accept different opinions.. never said it was ok what they did, all i said they should not be treated like villains cos there was valid reason behind their rage

@prutraliah @kiyodia @Shadechu_N Iroh was not. There was grace given to both characters. Victims can do evil things. If you don’t understand that, it’s because you are a bad person.

@kiggleslogic @kiyodia @Shadechu_N absolutely not i didnt say that my point was that both these ppl were driven by revenge as result of what the fire nation did to them that they didnt care who gets hurt in the process as long as they took them down, not saying its right but u can understand where they coming from

@prutraliah @kiyodia @Shadechu_N Jet and Hama both attempted to harm civilians simply because they were associated with their respective traumas. Jet learned this lesson about prejudice but regressed and was killed for it. Hama did bad things and got punished. A person's trauma does not absolve them

@prutraliah @kiyodia @Shadechu_N Once upon a time we agreed that one evil doesn't justify another. While both had understandable motivations acting like they were right in doing what they did or intended to is just a monstrous continuation of the cycle of violence.
