@OrevaZSN Becoming a billionaire means stepping on others necks to get there. Believe me when I say poverty of others and the future wellbeing of humanity is NOT part of their mental model of what “matters”.
I always said: if I had Jeff bezos money, I wouldn’t have Jeff bezos money.

@nickbaumann_ Its says OpenAI wants to:
“Accelerate the economy, … by working to ensure the gains are widely shared.”
But doesn’t explain how, or exactly what the “gains” are.
This seems intentional. Was it?
English

One of my favorite parts of OpenAI is how *open* it really is
This plan was shared internally and generated considerable feedback from everyone
And now its shared externally, and we expect feedback, once again
The stakes are way too high to be operating in the dark

@DMPacer @MaximumOrdinate @Pontifex You caught me… I’m really promoting hyper communism. The kind where I become and dictator and hoard all the Air. Enjoy that 1%… because I’m coming for it.
English

@MaximumOrdinate @psi_theory @Pontifex Are you proposing some utopia where we all get handed those things? Most of us can acquire those things with a little work. Air? 😂 mine seems fine and it's free. I must be in the 1% here.
English

@PedroMe38861248 @Pontifex Ty, the most genuine response and it was labeled as spam… appreciate you 🤝

@psi_theory @Pontifex I liked where you were going but the awnsers u got were... something. Congrats on being a stand up guy, u seem to be a good Man.

This is the question I was hoping for. unfortunately, my answer probably isn’t satisfactory… I’m not the collective, just one dude.
The logic is that these are non-negotiable for human existence. The literal floor for what “matters”.
Common goals, for the common “good”?
Integration I suppose would be almost constitutional? But it would have to be globally supported. The data already exists.
How would it work… Maybe policies and corporate decisions should be weighed against the pillars to identify the impact/ tradeoffs concerning the necessities we all need to persist? The WHO and a few other entities try, but here we are with 99% of the global population breathing less than ideal air quality (look it up, that’s the real number).
English

@psi_theory @Pontifex How does one integrate these into the system and how would it work?
English

@MaximumOrdinate @Pontifex Reflect on your response.
You can start by asking yourself why you think breathing clean air is a commodity.
English

@psi_theory @Pontifex Because those things are commodities that require labor to acquire. When you make them basic rights, you are implying that the people who provide them are essentially your slaves. You don’t support slavery, do you?
English

In an attempt to be specific…Can anyone who knows more than me explain why these are not “gods pillars” for human persistence:
1.Air
2.Water
3.Food
4.Temperature regulation (shelter)
5.Care when the body is compromised (medical)
6.Intergenerational transmission of survival-critical knowledge and skills
“Survival-critical” = the practical, tested know-how that directly sustains air/water/food/temp/caregiving (plus the ability to adapt it when the environment changes).
These really cannot be argued, right?
And please explain why we should not consider these to be the specific “metrics” used to determine what the common good should actually mean?

Einstein's 1949 essay "Why Socialism?" argued capitalism's "economic anarchy" and cutthroat competition bred inequality and exploitation, favoring a planned socialist economy paired with education aimed at social goals instead.
In 2026's landscape of AI-driven growth, global markets lifting billions from poverty yet with persistent inequality, he'd likely still critique unchecked competition but grapple with how market incentives fueled the scientific and tech advances he prized. His views were of their time—non-expert opinion on ethics over pure economics.

@demishassabis @antigravity @GeminiApp Reflection here will not pull you away from recent achievements.
English

@demishassabis @antigravity @GeminiApp Can I ask how this moves the needle towards your goal of: “ Trying to understand the fundamental nature of reality”?
English

Gemini 3.5 Flash is amazing!
- Performs better than 3.1 Pro on coding & agentic tasks
- 4x faster than other frontier models
- 12x faster in @antigravity - 800 tokens/sec!
- Often at less than half the cost
And Pro to come…
Try it in @antigravity, @GeminiApp & more - enjoy!
