Just as the Webb space telescopes signature eight-pointed diffraction spikes, are a result of the shape of the object making the observations. So mathematics and physics reveal the shape of the structure with which we experience.

@bcox64 @The9thMahatma @dwolfman54 @Askwhyisit A unique "Two becoming One" Gospel of Thomas saying is included in the earliest physical sermon documents we have - II Clement, preaching to a proto-orthodox community, the text of the sermon is dated to 120-140AD, and the sermon is included in Codex Alexandrinus.

@The9thMahatma @dwolfman54 @Askwhyisit Anyone trying to convince Christians that the Gospel of Thomas is authoritative over the Gospels God already had given us is a liar and a deceiver. It's NOT documented they were taught in early Christianity. At ALL. I've read it. It's heresy. Goodbye.

The Infancy Gospel of Thomas didn’t make it into the New Testament. There you would find the following details about Jesus. A boy bumps into young Jesus and dies after Jesus curses him. Children who mock him are struck down or blinded. Jesus then reverses some of the harm or resurrects people. He also performs miraculous acts like bringing clay birds to life.

@adam7867863 @IndianFur @rewhum @PunishedLu Origen wrote that there were many other Gospels, some that were written earlier than the four, from which the four were chosen. He uses Luke's opening "many have tried.." in support, and names the Gospel of Thomas as one of those other gospels.

@girldadbucksfan @read_jfk_files Origen thought it did, and said so, and used Luke's opening "many have tried" to support his contention that there were many gospels already in existence from which the 4 were chosen, whilst naming the Gospel of Thomas as one of these.

The Gospel of Thomas was dated to 120 AD, meaning it predates all other New Testament texts. It contains 114 sayings of Jesus and presents a totally different version of Jesus. No Messiah, no miracles, no original sin, no death and resurrection, no return, no grand teleological masterplan of Revelation and the Apocalypse. Just the "here and now" with a rather mystical almost Taoist spin. Of course the later Christcucks declared this gospel to be Gnostic Heresy and suppressed it. The early Church Fathers Irenaeus and Hippolytus condemned it, which proves it was a real gospel because they mentioned it, therefore they had read it. Don't you think the earliest surviving text that contains the purest teachings of Jesus, as written by the brother of Jesus, should take priority over "official" Church texts written 200-300 years later by authors who weren't there to witness Jesus when he was alive? What if the past 2,000 years of "organized" Christianity has all been one gigantic lie, a "game of telephone" gone catastrophically wrong by passing down more and more distorted gossip, that turned into a civilizational scale scheme for power committed by mortal men who were liars and (self) deceivers? youtube.com/watch?v=l3Tau9…

@Jarhead_013 @Liz_Wheeler @DavidAFrench Yep the gospel of thomas is not orthodoxy, We already knew of it through Greek fragments discovered in Egypt, Some which are contemporary in date with the very earliest physical canonical gospels we have.

If the primary American divide is between right and left, then Talarico isn’t that interesting. There’s a long history of progressive religious activism in the United States, just as there is a long history of conservative religious activism. Yet if the primary American divide is between decent and indecent, then the equation changes. Talarico shines. nytimes.com/2026/03/08/opi…

@psiencequest “There is nothing ealier.” False. We may not have the originals, but there are literally thousands of copies, & contemporary historical records are sources for how we know they existed at the time. Again, the 4 original gospels were old news by the time of the gnostics.

The “Gospel of Thomas”, unlike the actual 4 Gospels, was not written within the lifetimes of witnesses to Jesus’s work here on Earth, all of which were well documented. It is no more part of the Bible than the teachings of the false prophets Joseph Smith or Muhammed.

Wrong, wrong and wrong! “The gospel of Thomas” like other gnostic works, that were not included in the bible through the process of canonization, has NO authority. As the rest of the bible was written mostly by the Apostles who knew Jesus personally, and their books do not contradict each-other.

Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate, James Talarico of Texas, quotes the Gospel of Thomas to suggest that one must become non-binary to enter the Kingdom of God. The Gospel of Thomas was an apocryphal gospel written in the late-2nd century, according to New Testament scholar Brant Pitre. "It's hard enough to write when you're alive; it's very difficult when you're dead... Even skeptical scholars recognize that these documents are too late to be authentic," Pitre said on the reliability of the apocryphal gospels.

George Zheng was a resident doctor at one of China's largest military hospitals when he was summoned one day for an unthinkable assignment. Told they were on a "secret military mission," he and several other doctors were brought before a 17-year-old boy bound so tightly that the ropes cut into his flesh. He was ordered to hold onto the boy's legs and prevent him from moving as two other doctors cut him open and removed both of his kidneys. Then, he was ordered to remove the boy's eyes. "When I looked at him, I saw fear in his eyes. His eyelids were moving. He was alive." Zheng's testimony is featured in the harrowing documentary “State Organs,” directed by Raymond Zhang, which follows two families' 20-year search for their disappeared loved ones. The operation Zheng describes took place in 1994. Little did he know, in the years that followed, this would soon burgeon into a large-scale, multibillion-dollar industry for the Chinese communist regime. And who was the 17-year-old boy who was killed for his organs? A young Army soldier who'd gotten on the wrong side of his supervisor—and who happened to be a tissue match for a high-ranking officer who needed a transplant. He'd come from a poor rural family in China, and his mother had bribed an officer with 10,000 RMB to get their young son into the army—in the hopes that he'd have a better life. Instead, his life was abruptly ended—before he even made it into adulthood.

@Vestwitt @TheHN1C I don't know what the label 'supernatural' means, 'consciousness' is poor label I avoid. Better IMO to just stick with the more accurate, all encompassing label of 'Experience'. Our views about Jesus are unlikely to be in agreement, but I find the Gospel of Thomas to be valuable.

These are things we can speculate about, but the point is there is a supernatural element to our consciousness, which agrees with what Jesus said about the soul, that it's separate from the body, and can be destroyed by God. Personally I think the best analogy is one of a receiver... our body, brain, is a receiver of consciousness. Just like a radio receives a signal when tuned in to a given frequency. This signal, somehow created a living being, a living soul, a unique personality, which is preserved, when we are saved. For those not saved, it will not be persevered, because the personality is in disharmony with God. Jesus is the way to be saved, to be made holy and compatible with God; to enter into a proper relationship with God.

Heaven and Hell are concepts I believe were created by white people as tools to control humanity by instilling fear and encouraging obedience or moral behavior. In my view, they are not real places. I believe that once a person dies, life ends completely. The body returns to the earth, and there is no consciousness or existence after death.
