@rmyardley @nogulagsagain Fair comment. It’s all about respect for all life, with a generous dose of compassion thrown in.

@nogulagsagain I am of English, Scottish and Irish heritage so delighted to give credit to Shakespeare, Watt, Adam Smith, Darwin etc etc but that has NOTHING to do with respecting the position of our first peoples! We can do both they are independent things to respect.

@ChuckBerry1969 Right again, Darren. The glove man generates energy and is the one around whom the whole team revolves. As you point out, Foakes bats well, perhaps not as damaging as Bairstow, but on balance, perhaps the England team is better, with him.

For those interested Ben Foakes is the best keeper in England by the length of the Flemington straight and has scored Test match hundreds. He also scored 124 for Surrey in a run chase victory last weekend. Go figure 🤷‍♂️🙈 #madness

If we can develop inner peace, we can build on it to create world peace. Many experts agree that our current education systems are inadequate. What we require is a more universal approach to human values that can appeal to everyone. There are grounds for hope.

The evolution of @travishead34 is also an inspiring story for a boy from humble beginnings chasing his dream all the way to the top. Lesson is anyone who wants something bad enough can make it happen. Being dropped is all part of the journey 🏏

@Nigel_Farage Pretty simple really: they care more about Usman than champagne. I understand that that might be a difficult concept for some.

Once again the Australian cricket team do not celebrate in champagne style because 1 of the team members is a Muslim. Are we all to suspend normal life because of the minority?

More runs for Marcus Harris in the UK in the lead up to the Ashes. This time finishing with 122* and carrying his bat for @Gloscricket against Durham adding to his 52 in the 1st innings! 👏👏👏

My simple religion is that there is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart are our temple; and our philosophy is kindness.

I believe that if we make an effort to develop peace of mind within ourselves and cultivate a proper appreciation of the oneness of humanity, we can create a happier, more peaceful world. What we need is common sense—the positive use of intelligence—and warm-heartedness.

All 8 billion human beings alive today are brothers and sisters. We’re physically, mentally and emotionally the same. We all want to live a happy life and avoid suffering and we all have a right to fulfil that wish. So, it's important to acknowledge the oneness of humanity.

The source of a happy life is within us. Troublemakers in many parts of the world are often quite well-educated, so it is not just education that we need. What we need is to pay attention to inner values.

It's important to recognize that if human conflicts are created by the misuse of human intelligence, we can also utilize our intelligence to find ways and means to overcome them. When human intelligence and human goodness are used together, all our actions become constructive.
