Does understanding the Math Practices seem impossible? I think so and I rewrote them in an attempt to make them readable. In this blog post I share my revised version of MP 3 as well as a link to download all 8 MPs in English or Spanish as a printable PDF. robertkaplinsky.com/making-the-ccs…

My favorite email so far in this life came from a former student. It said"whats good g." I don't know what that means, but it made day. Connecting with kids, all kids, is my forever why.

In chapter 4 of #DailySTEM, author @dailystem discusses cardboard! I read aloud THE LITTLE RED FORT, & I challenged the book study participants (K-5 teachers) to use #BoxLox to co-create the tallest fort that could hold 2+ people. We used quotes (A-Z) from the book to reflect.

Do you have students who rarely participate in class discussions or activities? What about students who blurt out answers? If you answered, "YES!" to either of these questions, you will love this morning meeting idea! buff.ly/2BEDZQf

Lets be honest, science is a communications class. Getting students to listen to sense-making of others, using spoken & written words, or modeling, to share their sense-making. It has to start with good listening. #NGSSchat

#STEM is not a book we open up, or a name we put on a school... STEM isn’t something we only do on Friday with your students... STEM is about making learning relevant EVERY day for EVERY kid in EVERY classroom! It’s #DailySTEM.
