I’ve just published my thoughts on the future of AI and robotics, with a particular focus on #mentalhealth.
In short, I believe that without #psychedelics, an AI-driven future may fail. It may fail not because the technology won’t be extraordinarily positive. In fact, I am deeply optimistic that a post-AGI and robotics-enabled society can be profoundly beneficial for humanity, but because of the risk that the transition goes terribly wrong.
Without the psychological tools to adapt, we may struggle to successfully navigate the massive disruption and change ahead of us.
Psychedelics - and, by extension, $ATAI - could play a critical role in unlocking a future defined by abundance, resilience, and human flourishing.

I'm experimenting with 5-MeO-DMT because it may be most underrated longevity molecule no one is talking about.
+ Accelerated neurogenesis: a single dose more than doubled brain cell proliferation and neuronal regeneration in the hippocampus within 12 hours, alongside measurable increases in synaptic density and firing frequency in rodent models.
+ Proteomic reorganization: in human cerebral organoids, 5-MeO-DMT triggers rapid proteomic shifts favoring cellular reorganization and synapse formation. Early evidence of structural brain renewal at the molecular level.
+ Default Mode Network reset: The DMN calcifies with age locking us into rigid, repetitive patterns of thought. 5-MeO-DMT disrupts these patterns, restoring bottom up connectivity between sensory and creative brain regions. A forced return to neurological flexibility and youthfulness.
+ Systemic anti-inflammation: suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-alpha) while upregulating IL-10, the anti-inflammatory signal. Mediated through the Sigma-1 receptor, suggesting a mechanism distinct from other psychedelics.

In 1967, Charlie “Brown” Artman found himself at the center of a criminal case in Alameda County, California after authorities charged him with possessing a newly outlawed LSD.
The trial took place right as Berkeley’s counterculture movement was gaining national attention, turning the case into a small reflection of the cultural clash happening across the country. Artman wasn’t a typical defendant. He referred to himself as the “Boo Hoo of the Berkeley Bagh,” a playful title he used for his role as the spiritual guide of a small, free-spirited community.
Instead of backing away from his beliefs, Artman spoke openly about them. He explained that the substance at the center of the case was tied to his spiritual outlook and his ideas about expanding human consciousness. When news cameras caught him outside the courthouse, he seemed relaxed and thoughtful, calmly talking with reporters about what he believed.
The court ultimately convicted Artman, and the case ended with a relatively minor penalty rather than anything that changed the law. Even so, the trial captured a moment when new ideas about spirituality and consciousness were colliding head-on with strict drug laws.
Artman himself never became a major historical figure, but his case remains a small window into the strange, fascinating atmosphere of the late 1960s.

Bryan Johnson ran a data-driven experiment to test psilocybin mushrooms longevity potential, tracking hundreds of biological markers before and after the experience. Here are some of the key signals his team observed:
🧬 Multi-system effects:
Changes appeared across metabolic, hormonal, inflammatory, and neurological systems — all major drivers of aging.
🧠 Metabolic improvements:
• Blood glucose control moved from the top 2% → top 0.2% of the population
• Mean glucose ↓ 8%
• Glucose variability ↓ 11%
🔥 Inflammation reduction:
A key inflammation marker (hsCRP) dropped to below detectable levels about a week after the first dose.
🧘 Stress hormone shift:
• Cortisol ↓ 42%
• DHEA ↓ 45%
Both changes point to a strong recovery / afterglow state.
🧠 Brain connectivity changes
• Reduced rigid default-mode activity
• Increased sensory and motor integration
• A more flexible, exploratory brain state
📊 Two notable firsts
• First documented continuous glucose monitor (CGM) observation of improved glucose control after
• First thermal body map of a psiløcyb!n journey
