We are devastated about the passing of SMRU legend Dr Bernie McConnell. He had been with SMRU 40 years and served as both deputy director and head of @SMRU_Instrument. He was life and soul of every meeting and party, and will be hugely missed. Our thoughts are with his loved ones

Pre-registering studies, in which the hypotheses and protocols are logged before carrying out research, seems to reduce publication bias for positive results in the biomedical and psychological sciences. We desperately need this for conservation go.nature.com/2EMNwcR
