The difference is SpaceX has some cool tech that allows transmissions under difficult circumstances. I can imagine Space Aliens asking "How are they getting images of the plasma around the craft on reentry?" Also SpaceX have enough craft and launch often enough that they get feedback on their launch video.

NASA’s Artemis II livestream really makes you appreciate @SpaceX’s launch broadcasts. Bad camera tracking, no onboard cameras, countdown timer disappeared, NASA even showed people in the crowd instead of stage separation lol. The screen also blacked out twice during the first 10 seconds of the launch.

@hajime20250823 Many years ago I drove from Calgary to Montreal to attend a wedding. When driving around it seemed that people were always pissed at us, and as it turns out, you can't turn right on a red light there. The wedding got called off too. Fun times.

You don’t see dalmations too much these days. They were everywhere in media. It was pretty common to see them at dog parks/being walked. Now I haven’t seen one in probably a decade. Where the hell did they all go

Just realized something that honestly made me stop for a second… $2,000 rent a month. That’s $24,000 a year. Stay there 5 years… that’s $120,000. Gone. No ownership. No asset. Nothing to show for it. Just paid to exist somewhere. That’s actually insane when you really think about it.

Yes, it was real. In Calgary, Alberta, our house had a milk chute. This was an area with small doors both inside and outside, and my mom would put a note with what she wanted and some money in the chute, and a guy with a truck would come by and take the money and the empties, and leave filled bottles. The bottles were quart sized, and had a small paper seal with a tab to remove it. I believe the brand was "Palm" but that was a long time ago.

My wife says this never happened. Does anyone else remember when milk came in glass bottles and the milkman would deliver it to your doorstep before sunrise? You’d leave the empties out for him to pick up!
