What Happens when you bash Genie-3 (which is now hooked into Google Street View) INTO Google Omni? Something kind of fascinating! We know that Genie-3 tends to decohere the further you go, but Omni can keep it consistent AND add in real world details.

Hiring Andrej Karpathy probably increased Anthropic's valuation. Does that mean they hired him for free?

I’m obsessed with this idea of vibe-coding user-specific tools on the fly. For @outfoxai - it would be for marketing automation use cases. I spec’s it out — it was surprisingly not a huge lift. I hope we can bring this to life this year!

The creative process is different for everyone, so we’re introducing Google Flow Tools. Now you can vibe code any creative tool you can think of, like designing video effects or hand-drawn animations. You can build, share and remix tools directly in @FlowByGoogle. #GoogleIO

I’m *long humans* in the age of AI. Here’s why —
Dan Shipper 📧@danshipper

We’ve automated every single thing we can @every with AI agents. And yet there’s way more human work to do than ever. We’ve gone from 4 -> 30 human employees since GPT-3. I wrote a report on the structural reasons: how AI makes expert competence cheap, why that drives up demand for experts, and why the dynamic only intensifies as we approach AGI. After Automation: every.to/p/after-automa…

I think there is a big difference between “experience” and “expertise”. True expertise allows one to see their field through multiple conflicting angles. And — especially with the current crop of sycophantic LLMs — **real expertise is now more valuable than ever.** Dan has a great take here :) —

@SoniaBaschez That’s certainly true of social media and TV — but they are built as bubbles. This is more like — “Google Search but audio”… It feels quite different.

@ptsi that's nice that you think people will search for sources outside their bubble, but all the research on social media and tv watching says the opposite, that they'll continue searching for more of what they already believe.

@SoniaBaschez I’m definitely excited about the “local news” angle! So perhaps… the answer to hyper-personalization… is a deeper version of itself?

You’re likely right… But - a counter - This could allow folks to break out of their bubbles by making “crossing bubble boundaries” a lot easier. For example - “How does Fox cover this topic?” or “Give me the latest gossip on Tom Holland” or “What are the pros and cons of Pentagon policy ___” These things just don’t exist today because they require “being inside” a certain editorial or algorithmic info bubble But they could easily exist when it’s easy to pull in added knowledge?

hiring a growth engineer at @nomic_ai the job: build agentic systems that get us in front of every built environment company in the U.S. (~20k companies). orchestrate agents to automate non-spammy outbound, ad campaigns, linkedin touchpoints, events, seo — all wired together. i've personally been building our internal gtm system myself from scratch the last 6 months with very impressive results - time to scale! this isn't a marketing role. it's engineering role where your measured output is qualified customer calls and sign ups. if you like low latency feedback loops between prompt and customer demand surges this might be the role for you. link: nomic.ai/careers

turbopuffer crossed $100M run-rate in March. 19mo after $1M. Profitable & <$1M raised. Cursor・Anthropic・Notion・Cognition・Harvey・Bridgewater・Ramp・Linear・Legora・Superhuman・Atlassian・Granola We’d be nowhere without them. We work like hell to exceed their expectations.

Exa raised $250M at a $2.2B valuation, led by a16z, to continue organizing the web for agents: - Exa now serves search to Cursor, Cognition, Openrouter, 5000+ other companies, 500k+ developers - We’re SOTA in many important verticals (code, companies, people, news, more very soon) - We make agents smarter and cheaper by returning 90% less text with little to no tradeoff in RAG quality - We’re building out web agents that are Pareto optimal on price x performance x latency, possible because we own our search stack fully end to end We used to tell candidates that without innovation in search, we may live in a world where we have both AGI and fake news. Funnily enough, I think that we’ve now been living in such a world for quite some time. With this funding, we should be able to dramatically improve the state of information in society. 🚀🚀🚀
