the lack of consistency was the main problem. if cubarsi's tackle was a red card "strictly according to the rules" then so was the handball. if the handball was okay due to "common sense" and "context of the situation" then so was cubarsi's tackle. the ref just wasn't consistent.

They really need to introduce a lot more indirect free kicks in the box. If this happened outside the box 100% would have been called because the punishment isn’t an automatic goal for the opposing team.
