We estimate that pubs across the UK will sell an additional two million pints across the Saint Patrick’s Day weekend, bringing the total number of beers poured to almost 40 million. Events like Saint Patrick’s Day are a powerful reminder that the pub remains the number one place for people and communities to come together and celebrate. However, with the typical pub making just 12p in profit on a £5 pint, many publicans continue to operate on razor-thin margins despite the increased footfall. That’s why we are continuing to work with the Government to deliver meaningful business rates reform, ensuring pubs up and down the country receive the long-term support they need.
