Hilarious.
Yesterday I wrote a post:
3 hour/day businesses suck.
People thought we should work more.
I started laughing.
I meant we should work 0 hours behind a business.
That should be the goal.
I don't mean 0 hours every day.
I mean 0 hours on maintenance mode, which is 80-90% of the time.
I have no issues working 12-16 hour days.
But it would only be so that I can work close to zero on other days.
Most business owners spin hamster wheels daily and have no way out.
That's what I dislike.
That's how I came up with the Delegate. Automate. Forget system.
I work hard initially to put in the infrastructure to automate everything.
And then I do next to zero to maintain it.
I am talking about client fulfilment infrastructure here.
There's no point escaping a 9-5 boss only to do the bidding of 10 clients in your business day in and out.
You need a system to become the portfolio manager instead.
Someone who supervises businesses.
Not runs them.
Instead, the business owner, YOU and ME, provide the most critical asset:
Strategies to sustain and scale the business.
Without doing any of it yourself.
That's the highest form of leverage you can have.
Where you are not in your business as an obligation 3 hours/day.
This is not to tell you not to work hard.
This is to say that I figured out a way to work hard so I wouldn't have to work hard to maintain the business.
But could only focus on the highest leverage tasks instead.
So that I could be rid of the bosses once and for all.
And this doesn't become a glorified 9-5.
You were here for the freedom.
Don't sacrifice it for some short term cash grab.
Employ leverage.
Build your business right.
Cheers,
Sohom
