@puntscoop @fireshoes Cavern was extremely good. Consider it basically core as long as blue decks are meta. Won me 4-5 games and never caused issues. I think Nursery is an acceptable card, but once you become more comfortable with the deck it's not important. Weak to annul/Get Out :(

On my flight to RC Cinci! Really looking forward to seeing where the metagame settles. I predict Landfall has a great weekend.

A rough 3-3 start for me: lost a tight one to @EdgarMTG showing me he is the top player in Canada, then flooded out two more. Thanks to those with very kind comments about the guide! Direct all criticism to @liamkane_. Now rooting for @jakoboffline to show off Ancestral Anger!

Wizards would not even have to touch their bottom line to improve competitive play prizing. You have a money printer. Print more/better promos. Give collector booster boxes as part of prizing. Slap your logo on merch.

Wizards needs to view organized play as a long term investment in the game. Yes, Commander is king at the moment, but who knows what the game will look like in 5 or 10 years? Who would have predicted Commander's rise 15 years ago? More support for 1v1 competitive play seems like a great hedge against an unknown future.

Wanted to give some feedback @MagicOnline I absolutely love playing showcases and even streamed my showcase qualifier run, but getting qps is a struggle. I don’t have time to do a million leagues or challenges, and even weekend modern prelims don’t fire.

Pro Tours are a luxury hobby, fun to play once in a while, just simply not worth pursuing for anything more than personal accomplishment. IMO it’s def fine to aspire to that, but you’re not earning a living playing competitive mtg these days so temper your expectations.

In 2006, first place at a PT was 57 ounces of gold In 2026 it’s less than 11 ounces. It’s a Commander world, you’re all just living in it with whatever crumbs fall off the table

The biggest part is that the lessons package includes many narrow answers. Whenever these answers don't line up against your opponent, the difficulty of using them well both makes it harder to enable Accumulate Wisdom & Flow State and makes their payoff worse (since you'll draw more answers that don't work well). But when they do line up well, you get to easily answer their gameplan and refuel with more. In other words, it's because answers can change significantly in value, many lessons are answers, and the value of card drawing is contingent on the value of answers.

I have some questions for prowess gamers: - We must have tried a lessons core variant with flow state too right? I presume it’s eating too much space - Why don’t we like colorstorm stallion? - Why don’t we play 1x Emeritus of Ideation in the side?

- Flow State's redundancy with Accumulate Wisdom is potentially very good in Lessons! However, it amplifies both the strengths and weaknesses of Lessons. - Stallion is very strong with the right build, but doesn't fit in the most popular version of Prowess, so was overall underrated. - Emeritus is strong in reactive decks, but too expensive for Prowess, and Emeritus also needs support (in that you need to be able to tap out for it safely) not suited to Prowess.

Landfall feels pretty good. My first time jamming it and the deck basically wins a ton if you spend a bit of effort sequencing and forcing awkward moments on your opponents interaction or forcing them to have it. Almost trophied with 4-1, losing to Prowess at the end
