This woman says that if you carry the tricolour while speaking about immigration or the state of Ireland today, you’re somehow “abusing” what our forefathers fought for. That’s genuinely absurd. Pearse and the men of 1916 fought against foreign rule and for Irish sovereignty, Irish identity, and the survival of the Irish people and Gaelic culture after centuries of colonisation. They did not fight so Irish people would one day be mocked or demonised for caring about their own homeland, communities, or national identity. People constantly invoke the forefathers while completely stripping away the actual meaning of Irish nationalism. Wanting Ireland to remain Irish is not an abuse of the tricolour…pretending the Irish revolutionary movement stood for the erasure of Irish identity is the real historical revisionism.

@MasterMaliq A few? You're all extremists because your sick joke of a religion is extreme. Everywhere muslims go misery, death, oppression, rape & murder follow. Who in their right mind could honestly believe that that deranged monster you call a prophet was sent by God?

Muslims are not dangerous. We are human beings like everyone else, with families, love, care, and ordinary lives. Our faith teaches compassion, not hatred. Our Prophet taught respect and mercy. Yes, there are a few extremists who distort our religion and bring shame to it, but they do not represent the vast majority of Muslims. So why is it that many still get profiled and treated as suspects? Is it fear, or hate?

🚨🇮🇪 Meanwhile in Ireland “I’m Aboud Amalia Jamile” Man born & bred in Ireland, sounds Irish, doesn’t look Irish, but wants a Muslim Ireland where Sharia Law is enforced & everyone prays to Allah all day. Does this sound totally insane? That’s because it is, problem though is it’s actually happening in real time.

@IrishmanIRL Flynn is great on repeating name of Congo-man after accidental death during shoplift. Not so good on saying name of one of her own though, a young murder victim she will never acknowledge. You will never hear that words "Scarlett Faulkner" come out of her mouth. Why is that?

ISIS terrorists murdered Yazidi children in front of their mothers. They would rape and starve the mothers for days, then kill the children, cook their bodies, and serve the flesh with rice so the mothers would unknowingly eat their own babies. Most of the women committed suicide after finding out. Everyone in the Muslim world knew what was happening, but not a single Muslim or Palestinian activist protested for the Yazidis!

@Banished_Elk I’m not accepting racist slurs disguised as "just asking questions." If someone can live in Norway their whole life, represent Norway internationally, speak Norwegian and still be called "not Norwegian" because of their ethnicity, then yes, that’s racism.

@GaelsFairPlay @LadiesFootball The greatest danger to women is other women. If a clear majority of women said no to this crap then that would be it. There are plenty of women saying no but there's far too many women saying yes, case in point. Idealogues who only care about looking progressive

When Helen O'Rourke was CEO of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, she oversaw the implementation of a policy permitting males to play @LadiesFootball. It was brought in under a cloak of secrecy, with Ms O'Rourke instructing county officials not to share the details of the policy with grassroots members until after it had been ratified. Not a single player, parent or coach was consulted. Once the policy had been brought in, attempts made by members to engage with management on this issue were ignored. When Gaels For Fair Play wrote to her asking to meet and discuss the safeguarding flaws in the policy and its implications for women and girls, we received a solicitor's letter in response that we found sneering, aggressive and dismissive in tone. So, while Helen O'Rourke is lauded for 'outstanding achievement", we think today of the female Gaelic footballers who were injured by males but felt unable to speak up because they were afraid. We think of the young girls experiencing distress because they were forced to play against juvenile males with not only a clear competitive advantage but who they were afraid to come into contact with on the field of play in case they got hurt. We think of their parents, who have begged the LGFA to address the blatant safeguarding breach this policy represents and who are desperate to ensure their daughters are not exposed to physical and social harn but who have been ignored. The man presenting the award to Ms O'Rourke is junior minister for sport Charlie McConalogue. He knows this policy denies women and girls fairness and safety because we met with him and told him so. Unfortunately, it seems something that should be sacrosanct in sport - safety and fairness - can be sacrificed when it comes to women and girls.
Irish Sport@iresport

Our final award: Outstanding Achievement in Sport. The winner is Helen O’Rourke, former CEO of the LGFA, recognised for her outstanding contribution to Irish sport. She was presented with the Outstanding Achievement & Contribution to Irish Sport Award by Minister @McConalogue

I can't decide what is worse, that: -multiple white men murdered this black man; -once they realised they'd murdered him they didnt immediately start CPR; or -so many people just stood around and watched the murder happen in front of them Ireland is getting more racist
