Every administration is going to have a couple of issues that they think are undeniably great policy but also terrible politics. Congestion pricing is one of those things (64% opposed it in a November poll from Siena College and Hochul has handled it as badly as humanly possible)

Whether you support the McGuiness redesign or not (and I’m definitely giving too much credit to the McGuiness opponents here), anyone advocating for specific outcomes in NYC policy should be very concerned about this. It’s blatant pay-to-play, and it’s no way to govern.

It's astonishing how much McGuinness Blvd, where the mayor backtracked on a street redesign after a donor/biz outcry, has had a chilling effect on convos w/organizers. I keep hearing 'what happened on McGuinness;' it's become almost synonymous with influence outweighing merit.
