To put the low Afghan well-being score in context, they compared the data from @Gallup World Poll and the @ehero_eur World Database of Happiness, covering > 170 countries in 1946-2022. Afghan's life satisfaction after the Taliban regaining power was the lowest ever recorded.

The study made use of a population-representative sample of Afghan adults from the @Gallup World Poll to show that both the average life satisfaction (1.28 on 0-10 scale) and hope (1.02 on a 0-10 scale) scores declined to its lowest from 2019 to 2022 after the War ended.
