We're sharing an update on the advanced Voice Mode we demoed during our Spring Update, which we remain very excited about: We had planned to start rolling this out in alpha to a small group of ChatGPT Plus users in late June, but need one more month to reach our bar to launch. For example, we’re improving the model’s ability to detect and refuse certain content. We’re also working on improving the user experience and preparing our infrastructure to scale to millions while maintaining real-time responses. As part of our iterative deployment strategy, we'll start the alpha with a small group of users to gather feedback and expand based on what we learn. We are planning for all Plus users to have access in the fall. Exact timelines depend on meeting our high safety and reliability bar. We are also working on rolling out the new video and screen sharing capabilities we demoed separately, and will keep you posted on that timeline. ChatGPT’s advanced Voice Mode can understand and respond with emotions and non-verbal cues, moving us closer to real-time, natural conversations with AI. Our mission is to bring these new experiences to you thoughtfully.

Cool - @TMobile stole my trade in phone, and because they apparently delete all records of support calls after 6 months it was the perfect scam for the support person to tell me ‘wait 3-4 bills to see that it’s fixed’. Is this common carrier practice now?!

2024 predictions 1.Selenium adds AI-based selectors that never break. 2.Firefox adopts chromium— ending need for cross-browser testing. 3.“Manual testing” replaced with “Prompt testing” 4.All test cases and automation code are open-sourced. 5.AI generates billions of tests, and over 0.025% are useful. 6.Test tool marketers stop making specific %, $, time claims. 7.AI replaces all developers, who all convert to be testers. 8.Context-based testers realize AI has more context than they do. 9.Multi-modal AI replaces all testing tools and humans. 10.Hype cycle for AI in software testing ends,

The truth about testing in the world of AI. There are no ‘testers’. Funny, the very engineering of AI systems often starts with the definition of the training and test sets which are really just very formal oracles of behavior—testing. Extreme TDD 🤣 With generative AI , “testing” is now called “Eval”. Just testing by another name—avoiding the word. Evals (“test results”) are even reported in the news today, but it’s not called test results. Software testers are concerned, and often complaining that the latest AI software isn’t “tested”, and this will lead to doom. The reality is quite the opposite. The focus is more about quality than ever and there is more testing going on than ever, but it’s not being done by “testers”. 🤔

@pyleskevin @AST_News Do you have anything public on what you look for in apprenticeships and/or what the apprentice gets out of it?

Have you ever seen an SDET apprenticeship program? Or any apprenticeship program within software testing or development? If so got a link? The @AST_News (and I) are going to give input on a framework but I'd like to see if I can find references to look at before hand.
