@Victoria1439162 I’ve never seen or heard anything like this ever happen in any of the early churches yet here we are today; No matter how good this looks it’s really dangerous to today’s young people..

@GuerillaLawyer @HolaFalkoro @taco_talks Nice joke. I just wonder what Mary would say if she knew how Catholics kneel at her statues and pray to her.. call her the co redemptrix.. my lips tremble as I utter such blasphemy! May the Lord have mercy.

@Anevs23 @taco_talks Scripture is what He commands that’s why we as Protestants believe in Sola Scriptura but you on the other hand have such things as the papacy and its many heretical councils

@pyowdaa @taco_talks I already believe in and follow Jesus Christ, that’s exactly why I take seriously everything He and the apostles taught. The disagreement isn’t about whether to believe in Christ, but how His saving grace is applied. Scripture doesn’t separate faith from what He commands.

@Anevs23 @taco_talks And for this reason my friend you sound more Protestant even when you identify as catholic.. Repent and believe in the one true savior Jesus Christ!

@pyowdaa @taco_talks The Church has never taught that a mere ritual, without faith, saves. But that’s not the issue. The issue is whether baptism is just a symbol, or actually part of how God gives new life. Scripture speaks about it in a much stronger way than secondary.

@Anevs23 @taco_talks It makes baptism an instrument of salvation, not just a sign of it. The real question is consistency: if salvation is by grace through faith, why tie regeneration to a sacrament? And if exceptions like “baptism of desire” exist, then in what sense is baptism truly necessary?

@Anevs23 @taco_talks The issue isn’t whether Catholics believe in “mere ritual” they don’t. The Catechism and the Council of Trent explicitly teach that baptism actually regenerates, forgives all sins, and is necessary for salvation. That goes far beyond symbolism.

@Anevs23 @taco_talks Reformed theology doesn’t “ignore the norm” we just differentiate it from the primary requirement… also secondary in this sense doesn’t mean optional. There are so many people that received the Holy Spirit before they got baptized, baptism alone doesn’t guarantee salvation.

@pyowdaa @taco_talks You say it’s “secondary,” but Scripture never treats it as optional, it treats it as the ordinary way God applies salvation. The thief on the cross shows God can save outside the norm. It doesn’t give us permission to ignore the norm Christ gave us.

@Anevs23 @taco_talks Perfect! That’s all it takes to be saved, so now what about the Mary worship and the mass? I don’t think Christ commanded us to worship his mother now did He?

@pyowdaa @taco_talks You’re right that faith in Christ saves, but the question is, what kind of faith? The gospel Jesus preached wasn’t just “mentally believe and you’re done.” It was repentance, faith, and obedience to what he commands.

@Anevs23 @taco_talks You’re actually proving my point, but only in different words.. What is the gospel Jesus preached? And for clarity sake I said secondary not “unnecessary” we are baptized only so that all will know the faith we profess. Baptism itself doesn’t save but rather faith in Christ does.

@pyowdaa @taco_talks The thief on the cross doesn’t prove baptism isn’t necessary, he proves God isn’t bound by the sacraments. Big difference. Jesus hadn’t even instituted Christian baptism yet and the New Covenant wasn’t fully in effect until after the Resurrection.
